Drifting on Arroyo

Episode 130 - Childhood Nostalgia, Seasonal Jobs, and Community Connections

Rick, Lano, Miggy Season 4 Episode 130

Send us a text

Reuniting the full crew after a brief hiatus, this episode brings together all the familiar voices you've been missing as we drift through a nostalgic journey of childhood favorites, workplace experiences, and modern concerns.

We kick things off with a deep dive into our cherished memories of Voltron and Thundercats, speculating about potential live-action adaptations while reflecting on what made these shows so special to us growing up. The conversation takes a turn toward the realities of today's workforce as we break down how media often misrepresents seasonal layoffs at companies like Amazon, with one of us sharing firsthand experience loading trailers at UPS and the surprising skills required for the job.

The streaming landscape becomes our next focus as recommendations fly for shows like Dexter and its various spinoffs, Righteous Gemstones, and the 70s-inspired Duster. This naturally evolves into a fascinating discussion about how sci-fi films from decades past depicted technology and social control that now feels eerily prescient in our AI-driven world. We contemplate whether the Terminator future might be closer than we thought while examining how social media has already created the dependency and control mechanisms these dystopian stories warned about.

Cultural touchpoints guide the latter half of our conversation as we pay tribute to recently departed wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, debate the merits of today's tipping culture that seems to demand gratuity for minimal service, and crown Ruffles as the undisputed champion of dipping chips. We wrap things up with an enthusiastic breakdown of "William's East LA," a local anthem that celebrates our community's landmarks and culture through authentic hip-hop expression.

Ready to reconnect with old friends discussing everything from childhood nostalgia to modern anxieties? Hit play and drift along with us through this wide-ranging conversation that feels like catching up with your favorite people after too much time apart.

Mig:

Welcome back to the Drifting on Arroyo podcast. This is Mig. This is Lano, and RK67. We're back to a full force show. People, I made it back. All the voltron lions are back together yeah forming one mighty robot. A lot of stuff's been going on, huh yeah all kinds of shit.

Lano:

Is voltron considered anime?

Rick:

no, no because someone's asking if I like anime, and then I just always used to watch voltron, but that's not it?

Lano:

no, it's not, and I'm used to what Voltron, but that's not it?

Mig:

No, it's not. I don't know if I used to watch it. Yeah, alright, insult.

Lano:

Voltron.

Mig:

I've been hearing, I've been seeing a lot of rumors on YouTube that they're going to make a movie Voltron Voltron movie.

Lano:

Like a Transformer.

Mig:

They're trying to cast a live action. That'd be interesting. From some of the stuff that I've seen, it looks pretty cool Like the idea that they're throwing around it would be pretty big.

Lano:

I'm going to mess it up Like big For each guy to be in a vehicle.

Mig:

It depends who does it, I mean.

Lano:

Like King Kong right, Like some big when he's built. Or from space right, he's like a real big no, it was um.

Mig:

No, it was that, uh, that space witch?

Lano:

no, wasn't it well, I don't remember like the bad guy and stuff, but I just remember like there's five people right, oh, no, no, no, that's the undercats that momra. Momra, oh yeah, that's Thundercats. That was one of my other favorites. That's another one.

Mig:

That I think they're kicking around Live action, thinking about making a live action. They're casting it or they're just gonna do it AI, I think.

Rick:

I don't know man Well.

Mig:

AI's gonna do it. I don't know. With all these Layoffs, you know I got bamboozled, Like I see a lot of videos, like I told you guys about cars. That's why you can't trust it. When I asked, I asked Dono Lonu about all these layoffs and I asked him. I go, hey, are they laying off a lot of people at Amazon? And he says yeah, all the seasonal people.

Mig:

It didn't even occur to me like yeah, these fucking people are seasonal, that's why and they're making it, they're spinning it, saying that all these layouts are happening and and for them like like prime day of the season, right, they hire people for prime day and all that stuff that's why it's like.

Lano:

It's like we think seasonal you think it's seasonal, just like christmas, or?

Mig:

holidays or whatever it's like they they have their seasonal where they do their big sales and everything. So that's when they they have their seasonal where they do their big sales and everything. So that's when they have, like, their big rushes.

Lano:

You know there's two prime days now, like april and july, and then they have like the black friday holidays and all that stuff. I think it's um I think it's the.

Mig:

Some of it's real, like the ups drivers, drivers yeah, they're trying to get them to Accept a buyout Bullshit deal. Well, a lot of it was, and then, like those drivers, they've been there for a long time. I know when I worked there it took a while you had to be on a Like a seven year waiting list.

Rick:

Oh yeah, you had to put in your time there.

Mig:

Yeah, you had to move up. How long did you work there? I was there Just a year.

Lano:

A seasonal right? Yeah, you worked there that long?

Mig:

No, I was a I was hired on. Oh, hired on. Yeah, I was there for a year and I was a loader and you're just like Loading trucks.

Rick:

Yeah.

Lano:

Like how is it? Like you have to look at a number, how does it?

Mig:

work. You uh, depending on the trailer you're in, you get a A range of zip codes, so you just pay attention To zip codes. You gotta know what Zip code that the packages are going in.

Lano:

So you're remembering Like 10 zip codes or 6 zip codes.

Mig:

Um, it's a range still.

Lano:

But you're scanning it, or just by yeah, yeah, you gotta look at it.

Mig:

You gotta got to be in your head like, okay, that's good, and you scan it and you load it, the conveyor belts inside the trailer packages are coming in. You're looking at every zip code and then, um you, just you have a thing that you strap on your wrist yeah with the little clicker on your finger. You just click it. Click. That way they can track the package, that it's there. Every package has to be scanned.

Lano:

If it's not scanning, then you got to throw it back out.

Mig:

Yeah, you got to throw it back out so they can fix the label or whatever. But yeah, they give you a range depending on the trailer you're in. Like this is like a Phoenix, you get Phoenix zip codes. The way they broke down was there were each down, was each section was a belt color. It was like you're on purple belt or you're on orange belt and then each belt has five, six, seven trailers in there.

Mig:

Yeah, and each trailer has its specific zip code that it goes to Like. I remember the trailer that I was in it was a lot of Phoenix Arizona Zip codes, but yeah, I don't know.

Lano:

So when you're in the trailer Are you In New. Mexico. Like, are all the same zip codes Coming out at the same time, or they're coming out different Each time. Like each package, like, let's say Like the 6.5's, are they all coming out Like together in a, in a?

Mig:

bulk, or sometimes like are you loading all them like right there, like on the same? But it's crazy. It's crazy because it could be like I don't know what, I remember what the zip codes are, but let's just say, like our zip code here, right? Yeah let's just say um nine, nine, zero, zero, six, five through nine zero five hundred, yeah, yeah.

Mig:

So you got to know that range and, as you're seeing, you got. You got to be quick with it. Boom, boom, boom, and sometimes the supervisor will throw a package in there that doesn't belong there.

Rick:

Oh to catch it yeah.

Mig:

Yeah, throw a grenade in there. Yep, you see, if he gets you. And then I ended up, I was throw a grenade in there.

Lano:

Yep, you see if he gets you. And then I ended up. I was good. I was good. How many trucks like is it?

Mig:

a night or a shift. Oh, the one that I was on, it was the heaviest belt and we had the biggest trailer and we would load up, um, like two, two full 48ers no, I think there were 50-something footers 52 or 53s. Yeah, 53s are the longest. So we would sometimes, on a heavy night, we'd load two trailers and some. Sometimes it was just like one trailer and then half a trailer or whatever.

Mig:

Because that's all like hand-packed, right Like from floor to ceiling, hand-packed, loaded, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why, like when it was like just like a trailer, like a full trailer, yeah, and like a half, then it was cool, you know, yeah, because by the end of the night you're like kicking back because that one trailer was. It required two people in there to be loading it, so you guys both got to be on your game and then loading everything right, like all the heavy stuff on the bottom, the perfect, you know, and I was really good at it because, you know, because I'm good at.

Lano:

Tetris Seriously seriously.

Mig:

No, yeah you, seeing the shape of the boxes coming, you already know where it's going to go.

Lano:

Are you trying to put heavy on the bottom and light on top? You have to.

Mig:

The real heavy stuff is labeled with the yellow sticker 70 pounds or heavier. But a lot of assholes to mess with the unloaders. They would put those boxes up high but they would hide the 70-pound labels.

Rick:

So when they're breaking down the wall, they come down you got this heavy-ass box falling on them, that's messed up, yeah, and then at Amazon, what does Tonya do?

Lano:

You guys know he's a manager.

Mig:

Yeah, he's already management. Yeah.

Lano:

How long has he been?

Mig:

I mean, I'm sure, he did what Rick was doing. He worked loading like sorting and all that stuff, but he moved up fast.

Mig:

So like right now he's.

Mig:

So that was like what was that? 2000, probably that I was there, 2000, 2001? So who knows how things have changed 25 years. Yeah, I'm sure things have changed, I don't know, maybe, maybe not, I don't know, but that's how it was back then. Oh, and just so everybody knows that Tertonio is mine and Rick's nephew, yeah, yeah, so he works for Amazon, but he's already a supervisor. So he pretty much has like a crew Underneath him.

Lano:

Yeah, but that they have like robots like bringing them stuff right or no. I thought that like robots picked the stuff and then brought it to them and they just like throw it in a box or something Like that. Yeah. I'm not sure dude, they got in like really advanced.

Mig:

Yeah, I mean, if you really wanted to know man, he would be a good interview to have tell us the the behind the scenes of him.

Lano:

Yeah, if he can get him, when?

Mig:

he's awake yeah, we can get him when he's awake man, because that kid dude, every time you see him he's like half asleep.

Lano:

Yeah does he work like Night shift?

Mig:

or what.

Lano:

Yeah, he likes working.

Mig:

That graveyard shift, dude, or.

Lano:

How old is he I?

Mig:

mean 25, 26, he probably 25. Wow, he just has to deal with the chaos during the day.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

Probably. I mean that's. That's when I was at Home Depot. That's what I liked. I mean I worked graveyard, yeah, and just stacking the the shelves and all that stuff. It was beautiful man. No one, no one was in the store, that's when it was 24 hours, but I feel like.

Rick:

You never get.

Lano:

The sleep you're supposed to get, though. Like, even if you don't have nothing to do, the next day, like you're always, I feel like you're always Trying to get up or stay up to do stuff. Like you never get your Whatever to do stuff.

Mig:

Like you never get your whatever hours of sleep working graveyard well, I'm getting my sleep right now I mean all the same well you're working a lot, though.

Lano:

Yeah, I always thought, if I wasn't doing what I was doing, I'd probably just be working, like in some amazon warehouse or something, not in a warehouse, in an amazon warehouse or something Like some tech company or whatever.

Mig:

Yeah, hey, I saw. I started watching Happy Gilmore 2.

Rick:

Well, I was going to say I haven't seen it yet.

Mig:

You know, Manuel was telling me about that.

Lano:

But it came out on.

Rick:

When I saw it.

Mig:

It was pretty good. Who was on Netflix? What were you watching it with? For some reason it got on Ruffs. I don't know why. It let me in, but it let me in. But I think if I try again it'll probably just lock me out again, Because the last time I was at your house. I tried to jump on your Netflix and no, no, I'm telling you, because that's Ruffs' Netflix, I get on.

Mig:

But it shows.

Mig:

Dolores's no, but it shows Dolores's. No, yeah, it showed Dolores's name on there. Nope, not the Netflix.

Lano:

Is it the TV?

Rick:

Or the box. You have a box or just the TV?

Lano:

Where do you log in on?

Mig:

The TV? No, because I'm always. I'm always messaging.

Rick:

Ruff To give me the.

Lano:

Code number.

Rick:

Yeah, his thing.

Mig:

And then by the time I want to use it, he, he messaged, he texted me like Three hours hey turd, oh, send me the code again. I'm like dude, I'm not even. I'm already fucking Watching something else.

Mig:

Yeah.

Mig:

So Well, talking about watching, I I jumped on Dexter dude and I couldn't stop Watching it.

Lano:

You finished it, it's all out.

Mig:

I don't know about. I don't know how far Resurrection is, but I watched all the other ones. And, dude, it is so good, man, that is such a good show, dude. The writing and just Like the plot twists, dude, it is so good, man, that is such a good show, dude.

Lano:

The writing and just like the plot twists and everything. So the one you're watching is what Original Dexter? It was the same.

Mig:

No Original Dexter.

Rick:

No, it's the continuation.

Mig:

So the one after Original Dexter is New Blood. So that's dealingaling with his son. That's the one you're watching. No, I watched it already. Yeah, I finished it. And then, after New Blood is Original Sin. Which Original Sin it's? It's not even with. It's telling Dexter's story, but not even when he's a kid, you know, when he's already like Starting to become who he is. You know it's like he's starting to work for the forensics and all that.

Lano:

And this guy looks the same. Huh, it's been like I don't know how many years. Yeah, the guy that plays him in Original.

Mig:

Sin, he looks a lot like him. Oh, it's a different guy. Yeah, it's a different guy. Oh, little Sidney looks a lot like him, dude.

Lano:

Oh, it's a different guy. Yeah, it's a different guy. Oh, I didn't even know that.

Mig:

Oh, that one right there.

Lano:

Oh, this guy.

Mig:

That's supposed to be the prequel, right, yeah? Or it shows Wayne Howell and then the chick that plays Deb dude, the sister Dude. She is so good this one she is so good dude oh. Christian Christian Slater's.

Lano:

Is it this girl or?

Mig:

no, he pleased the dad, he pleased Harry. Oh, that's cool, yeah, yeah. So now I'm gonna, I'm gonna start Resurrection. So, but if anybody out there, man, if you need a show to binge, I mean, start with the original, original Origins.

Lano:

Original Sin or no?

Mig:

What's that Origins?

Lano:

this was one that came out like um 24 last year I didn't see that but it's a showtime, isn't it? No showtime, oh shoot we say you saw an hbo showtime. I don't know. I thought of the hbo original sin.

Mig:

What was the origins it's?

Lano:

supposed to be new blood and the original sin. Okay, new blood, because new blood, that was original sin.

Mig:

Because original sin picks up where new blood ends and then I'm assuming resurrection picks up where original sin ended. Origins is part of the new one this year oh, I don't know. Origins is part of the newest one New Blood, there's Original Sin and then there's Origins. That's brand brand new. Probably that has to be it.

Lano:

I'm trying to see what.

Mig:

Yeah, but Dexter Dude, that's Such a good show.

Lano:

The original went eight seasons. The original yeah. Okay, so here it is right here. So there's Dexter eight seasons. Dexter New. Blood one season. Original Sin one season. Dexter Resurrection one season. Well, I didn't see that Paramount Plus. Paramount Plus with Showtime.

Mig:

Hey, there's no more Showtime huh, it's connected with Paramount.

Lano:

There's no.

Mig:

Showtime, but they're paired up with Paramount, but they don't have no Showtime app.

Lano:

It's Paramount app Paramount Plus.

Mig:

If you use my Paramount, you can watch anything on Showtime.

Rick:

Yeah, I had a. Any other shows?

Mig:

I'm showing Vanessa House of Lies and I'm trying to jump out, because I was doing it through the app, through the Fire Stick.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

But then I had logged into the Paramount and then I remembered I went in there and yeah, it's on there, yeah.

Lano:

So there is no origins. Maybe that was the name before they changed it last year, or something New Blood was 2020.

Mig:

Have you started seeing Duster?

Lano:

24, 25. No, I got to watch it.

Mig:

You started it. I told you before this shit. Now you're starting to binge watch that shit, that was HBO.

Lano:

Duster Did that finish.

Mig:

It's been a while. The first season's done, I'll go and binge that one then.

Rick:

How many episodes is that?

Mig:

Eight.

Lano:

Yeah, eight it's an hour or half hour show it's an hour Okay.

Mig:

It's badass man.

Lano:

I'm gonna try to remember that I like that whole 70s style. Would that be like If you could come back? Come back at that time. Yeah, they got some Like the muscle cars and all that stuff.

Mig:

Yeah, fucking 70s muscle cars and the fly attitudes and everything Clothes they wore.

Lano:

Like disco Go watch that show.

Mig:

You see the fit is nice.

Lano:

I'm going to watch an episode before next show. This I'm gonna watch An episode before, before next show. I'm gonna watch it, yeah.

Mig:

Be like fly guy Walk around and tell people I'm gonna go check my fly paper, see what's sticking yeah. We finished, we finished all of Righteous Gemstone.

Lano:

That whole series yeah.

Mig:

Another one I gotta watch. That thing is so hilarious. We're talking about, like the past and old movies.

Lano:

Like that whole series. Yeah, another one I got to watch. That thing is so hilarious. We're talking about like the past and old movies, like when you saw like Terminator or any sci-fi stuff. Like did you ever think like, well, that's like a hundred years from now, or that's just like sci-fi, that would never happen, or Cause? Now I'm at the point where like well, this could really start happening. Like with all this AI stuff, like with the neural, like intelligence.

Mig:

Are you worried about losing your job to AI? No, no, we actually use it why yeah, I mean we use it like I'm sure all these other people that got laid off because of AI used it too, and they are hard up on it.

Lano:

Well, I have more of like a labor.

Mig:

Give me a reason why you don't think AI can take your job.

Lano:

No, I mean it could, but it's just not there yet. Maybe in a few years. Yeah, there you go.

Mig:

In a few years. I mean I hope it doesn't dude. He's going to be like the dude from Office Space.

Lano:

Yeah, but I'm going to be the deal with the customers. I'm gonna be the guy, so the engineers don't have to. Who who works with the ai, who who feeds it the stuff to learn or whatever it needs to do? No, just because all the stuff that's happening. That, though, also like now, I really believe there could be like a terminator, like yeah, like thing happening, what's that chat ebt shit.

Mig:

There's someone that you talk to right.

Mig:

Oh, dude, I'm.

Mig:

All the time, dude, I'm saying you know we gotta destroy Freaking Cyberdyne, you know.

Lano:

And.

Mig:

And get rid of All these.

Lano:

But who is Cyberdyne? Now, there's so many companies doing it. Yeah, exactly which is the one? Or the big one?

Mig:

Yeah, and that's just the us, and you got all the asian companies, or whatever but getting back to your point of watching the sci-fi stuff, it's funny because you go back and you watch, uh, like sci-fi movies from the 80s and and like say you're watching like something like terminator and they jump as far ahead in the future as, like they say, like you know, in In the year 2030.

Lano:

Right, just down the corner.

Rick:

Dude, that's like five years away, yeah.

Mig:

And it's like it's all futuristic yeah, it's all like futuristic and everything, or or we're watching something like Total Recall, uh huh, you know, in the years like 2022 or some shit like that.

Mig:

Yeah.

Mig:

And everybody's driving around in those things that are supposed to be like all like self-propelled. I mean, it was close, you got the cyber trucks that look like it's damn spaceship, or also Demolition man Mm-hmm, you know you watch stuff like that and how it's supposed to be, but Demolition man though, dude, demolition man trips me out how much they are. They did predict how society is becoming in the future, because society is mimicking a lot how people are becoming now.

Lano:

Was that Schwarzenegger or Stallone?

Mig:

Stallone.

Lano:

That was the Judge Dredd. No, that's a different movie. I don't think I remember Demolition Schwarzenegger or Stallone Stallone. That was the.

Mig:

Judge Dredd, or that was that's it. That's a different movie.

Lano:

I don't think I remember Demolition.

Mig:

Well with Wesley Snipes. Oh, they get frozen, yeah, cause they were too violent, or I don't know what. And then they wake up in a Utopic society I gotta rewatch.

Rick:

I gotta rewatch.

Mig:

But everybody's like Super pussified in the future, you know. So there's like Zero violence and everything. And they don't know how to deal with Wesley Snipes Because they're trying to get rid of, like these underground people. You know they refuse to Bend to the new system. You know they want to live in their freedom and be able to. If you want to live on top, you have to live in their freedom and be able to. You know, because if you want to live on top, you have to live by their rules. And you know it's like all this stuff is banned, just like right, what they're trying to do right now. It's like they're like just, for instance, like they're. They say like salt is banned, you know, because it's bad for you. Salt is banned because it's bad for you. You know this is banned because it's bad for you. Soda is banned because it's bad for you. You know this is banned because it's bad for you. You know it's like you can't cuss. You know, or you get.

Mig:

That's opposite man. They're trying to kill us. They don't care they're trying to give us more Salt and more soda and more crap to it to kill us slowly, I'm saying. The point of the movie is that they're trying to Control you and make you this little puppet. You know that they can control you.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

You know, and the people underground Living in the gutters Are just trying to rebel and live free.

Mig:

You know, and it doesn't show how they do it. No, it just shows them being frozen Right now. They're being thought out after.

Mig:

All the social media, ph phones are what's controlling people, then that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying Did it show it in that movie?

Rick:

How we're doing it.

Mig:

But that's what I'm saying it's like one way or another. That's how society is being turned, you know, because there's this one thing that's like controlling everybody.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

You know that has everybody like dumbfounded and you know, just bowing. Yeah, you know, like just bowing to it and it's like I can't do without it. You know, hey, it's like if you walk out of, if you, if, honestly, if you walk out of the house without your phone, are you going to go in a full-blown panic that you don't have your phone on you? I won't, I know I won't, I won't, I wouldn't, but there's people that will. Well, the younger kids too.

Mig:

It's going to be different for me just because of work-wise. Yeah, I know, as far as like, if it's just someone trying to say what's up or to get on social, whatever it's like. No, well, that's what I'm saying, you know, because people are so addicted to their social medias and they're stupid, you know. I've got to see who likes my posts, you know, and I got to post this and see who likes this and who likes that you guys know who Joey Swole is. Joey Swole.

Lano:

No, I think you brought him up before. Nah, no, I don't think I brought him up A podcaster or something.

Mig:

He's a, he's an influencer. I think A bodybuilder Joey Swole, this guy.

Rick:

Yeah, that guy.

Mig:

Oh, okay. So before we talk about it, okay, it's RIP.

Lano:

Oh, hulk Hogan, oh yeah, the three of them.

Mig:

Well before the three. It was Michael Madsen, mr Bond, oh, that's right oh yeah. You know, Forgot about him.

Lano:

It was like a week before right.

Mig:

Yeah, that happened when we were off. Yeah, we were off, yeah, rip and then it was malcolm jamal warner.

Lano:

He was on the first one of the drowning, someone told me, and I was like really, and then they're like a drowning. I was like what?

Mig:

then ozzy I thought he would live forever, and then ho cogan and the one that's gonna live forever is freaking keith richards dude he's never gonna die man. Well, you know what? Because?

Lano:

rolling stones. What's one from kiss? What's his name? That's gene simmons. Gene simmons, he's still alive, right? I forget who?

Mig:

the other ones are gene simmons. But he's rich, is gonna live because he's snorting people's ashes yeah, I know, oh, really yeah, that's yeah. I think he found the secret to eternal life.

Mig:

Yeah, but yeah, snorted his dad yeah.

Mig:

Yeah, true story, he snorted his dad's ashes. But this guy he did that post right there, the Hulk Hogan post, Uh-huh Like, I guess kind of like a tribute thing. You know this one yeah that one and then his followers. I guess all just got started giving him shit.

Lano:

Why.

Mig:

Because just the controversial Hogan was, you know, with Trump and you know kind of his past, kind of racist remarks and stuff like that.

Lano:

So people don't really it says he had to apologize.

Mig:

Yeah, but he gave up, he got off his social and he had like six million.

Lano:

Oh look, he says I've done a lot of research and learned all the horrible things that man has done.

Mig:

Yeah, yeah, see, so he's off of it, he's off of social and then it didn't matter, like he, just because he's kind of like our age. So he grew up watching.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

Of course his idol or one of the people he looked up in fitness or whatever right, and you're like, yeah, when you grew up in that time you know that's all you see, right.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

So he did that little tribute and then I guess he got a lot of backlash from his followers, uh-huh, and he said he decided just to quit them social media or be an influencer because he got all this hate, like just because he did that picture. So it was like people just boom, turned on him right there so fast, like it didn't matter how many people he helped out or you know, encouraged, you know all this stuff and it's just how quick people can turn on you and talk shit to you on social media, no, I mean.

Mig:

So he says you know, know what I'm done with it. I mean good for him For being able to just Turn it off like that. Yeah, you know cause they're. I'm telling you there's people out there that are so weak that but people that are so they're just like Bam. They're right there On their phone.

Lano:

Ready to Hate on the next person Because we have a show we're on YouTube and then the podcast Everywhere. And then we have a show Instagram and then a show Twitter that just tells us Like when episodes Are coming out. But other than that, what social media Do you have Making the use Like? Is Facebook dead? I mean, I never got Into Facebook.

Mig:

Because I was like Late to the party.

Lano:

Like I was late to the party, so I never like joined it no, maybe, like Vanessa, still has Facebook but she's still like active on it, like she's just for the clips or stories and stuff.

Mig:

Yeah, cause I'll get clips.

Lano:

But like I can't even view them cause I don't have an account all the time. I hate that, like people send me stuff on TikTok yeah, I don't have TikTok. I don't let you play it I think Facebook.

Mig:

I might have opened up an account With an email I don't use anymore.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

But it was just to follow Strict9.

Rick:

Back in the day.

Mig:

But I don't use it anymore, that account. So Other than that, just Instagram, that's it.

Lano:

I had Instagram that I opened Just to like Join some like photo contest. That no Instagram. I had Instagram that I opened Just to like Join some like.

Mig:

Photo contest. That no, instagram. I only started using it Cause when we when we started the show, no, no. When we started Going to all those Reggae shows. I started following A lot of reggae bands.

Rick:

Yeah. Just from there, that's why I just, I just have IG Just to follow those guys.

Mig:

I'm not, I'm not active on it.

Lano:

I mean you're not posting, it's just, you're just Nah, I just Whoever sends me. Yeah.

Mig:

I don't post anything. They just Usually they'll send me Crack up looking at the memes They'll send me something on IG and then I'll check it out.

Mig:

Yeah, manny and his brother, and also his Manny and his brother. Majority of it is just them, these fake broads, bbls and all these Jornelos that are married. So they send me that stuff and then you look at the clip. Sometimes it'll be a funny thing, and then when I go check it out, then I'll see on the feed I'll see a funny video or something, and that's when I'll send it to you guys or it'll be like um, like I follow rigid tools and then I'll right jump on video tools like that, or it'd be a restaurant that I'm following right, or stuff like that.

Lano:

That's what I use it for. Yeah, sometimes it was like a truck you're chasing, so it's like different locations or something like that you know it's like, but for me To put your life Out there on it, nah.

Rick:

I've always said that.

Mig:

It's like and I've always said that it's like I don't understand why people would put their whole life out there On these things. You know, it's like it's just too much to put out there. It's like there's just too many dangerous people out there that can figure out ways to get to you yeah through that, with you putting all that info out there. It's like why do it? And it's people that want to.

Lano:

You know that are addicted to that. Well, you put like a picture of a restaurant that someone's like looking at the clock and the newspaper oh, it's today. They're there right now. The house is empty, all that stuff or whatever.

Mig:

You know, or people that say it's like oh you know, I'm gonna go To my favorite coffee shop Right now, you know, and you post it and say you got a stalker that's Stalking your thing, you know. Then they show up Right.

Lano:

It's like why are your thing you?

Mig:

know. Then they show up, Right, you know. It's like why are you doing that, dude? Why are you letting everybody know where you're going to be at you? Know, that's dumb people.

Rick:

But Facebook is still going. Yeah, it's still going.

Mig:

Yeah, hey. So how did you guys feel about Hogan when you got the news?

Lano:

I mean I was a little disappointed. I thought it sucked.

Mig:

You know Cause Growing up watching them.

Lano:

It was fun watching them Growing up.

Mig:

I thought it sucked, but you know I'm, I'm team macho man, so I kinda like.

Lano:

Cause Hogan was Putting moves on Elizabeth, or what yeah.

Mig:

I was kinda like.

Lano:

What was their team ultimate?

Mig:

I mean yeah when we were kids Growing up, watching them right Like it's like, oh man, I can't believe Hogan's like gone. You know, yeah, it's like crazy, but it's like it didn't really like bother me or nothing, because Well, yeah, I mean it's because Macho man had beef with them.

Mig:

Yeah.

Rick:

So, I definitely prefer Macho man over here.

Mig:

And then I hear, then you hear the stories of Taker when he was first coming up. Oh yeah, so Taker shows how he was like a little bitch, yeah, and he needed to be this, he needed to stay the golden goose of the WWF, yeah. So I was like you start hearing all these crazy stories, cause even like everyone talks shit about the ultimate warrior too.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

Where he's like. He had no talent and all he did was just tire himself out when he went running over there and basic moves and all that.

Mig:

He was like Vince pushed him too fast where he didn't even put like the time in in wrestling, he just big muscular dude came in and caught wind and like the time in in wrestling, yeah, and he just, you know, he's just big, muscular dude came in and, you know, caught wind and so it was stories like that. Whether you start hearing like, damn, now you know, cause of YouTube got big. You start hearing, you know people tell their stories and now you start seeing the, the, the dark secrets of these people and like oh shit, but well, um, wwe like what is it on right now?

Lano:

cable, um is it on netflix?

Mig:

or like no, no, I thought it'd be somewhere some new streaming on or peacock? No, no, it's not on.

Lano:

Paramount isn't no, not paramount is tbs tnt the regular it's on one of those I saw like somebody was gonna get it.

Mig:

I don't know if it no, not Paramount, it was TBS TNT.

Lano:

It's on one of those I saw like somebody was on the get it. I don't know if it was Netflix or some new streaming show.

Mig:

They don't have their own network. No, they don't have their own network. I'll tell you what, man. I'm not gonna shit, I'm not even gonna feel Anything once that piece of shit, vince McMahon, dies. Oh yeah, he's a piece of crap. He's a piece of shit I still haven't seen that.

Lano:

He's a piece of dog shit, that fucking guy. You guys saw the documentary.

Mig:

I haven't seen it, but that dude's just a fucking scumbag dude I I yeah yeah, he's a piece of fucking monkey crap the way he did the way he did the hitman dirty dude yeah, that he's.

Mig:

He's a piece of crap, dude.

Mig:

That pissed me off, dude. Piece of crap. Yeah, yeah, fuck that guy.

Lano:

I didn't know that Macho man had already passed until I saw that little cartoon where, like Andre the Giant Macho man, they were waiting for him. Yeah, dude, he had a heart attack A while back and a car crash.

Mig:

Yeah.

Mig:

I think he car crashed Because of a heart attack? Yeah, he had the, the heart attack, and then he crashed, but he was still. He crashed, but he was still alive.

Lano:

Yeah, oh, it's like in the hospital, yeah.

Mig:

Cause I'm telling you All those, all those times, all those specials that I told you that I watched.

Rick:

Oh, you're recording On the Indian Air team.

Mig:

It was all on there we broke it down. The Roids probably finally got to Hogan too. They're probably Damn heart attack yeah.

Lano:

We do have a phone call.

Mig:

They were saying that he was going through a lot of pain, though he had so many neck surgeries.

Lano:

They get beat up in that thing, they get all these little bruises and nicks and it just adds up you got one phone call of course you don't remember our backyard days.

Mig:

Man, let's see. I know that shit didn't hurt. We were throwing ourselves through tables and everything let's see what we got.

Lano:

Alright, this is a phone call.

Mig:

Let me see is it marked a shark? Yeah?

Mig:

hey, you guys throw another grade on whose phone?

Lano:

is that your phone? Yeah, it's fucking roger. Oh, all right, tell them we're doing a show hey, you guys, what's your thoughts on tipping?

Mig:

You know, sometimes you go to some place and they don't even serve you the food. They just flip that screen. The person checks you out, turns around and then the screen says do you want to add a tip? I mean, so I don't know about it. I think tipping is getting out of control. You know, I think that we should only be tipping people who actually do a good job, who serve us, but not when you're like picking up food to go or uh, you know, stuff like that. What about, like grubhub, stuff like that? I mean tipping. Uh, anyways, I want to get you guys to pay on that like that's, that's always.

Mig:

That's been a big topic already. Um well, like grubhub, I mean, they're bringing you your food yeah, I mean yeah, tip them dude. Yeah, I mean because, you're not you're not getting your lazy ass out of the house to go get the food I mean it's the same as having a pizza delivered to your house yeah, yeah, you're gonna tip.

Mig:

You always tip the the pizza, dude, so tip them give him a couple bucks and and and yeah, if someone's serving you at a restaurant, yeah, but but I mean he's talking about like, like, say you went to um, take out or something, yeah, you know. Like say you went to um, you went um, I guess, starbucks or or whatever you know. And then like they, you know, they, you know, you just ask for a coffee, regular coffee. So all they did was just pour the coffee and give it to you and they turn the screen and still expecting the tip.

Lano:

Like Dutch brothers, all that stuff, you know it's like no dude.

Mig:

it's like all you do is just pour a freaking cup of coffee. You're doing nothing special Like that was their.

Lano:

That's what their job is.

Mig:

You know, or like say McDonald's starts doing that crap, especially if McDonald's starts doing that crap, I'm like no, it's like you idiots wanted $20 an hour, you got your $20 an hour and you still want your tip? Well, I got a tip for you right here.

Lano:

You know bullshit and a lot of it's the software you get your $20 an hour and you deal with it.

Mig:

I tell you, if you got shorted hours now and you got freaking kiosks Out in the lobby Doing your job now, then that's your guys' fault.

Rick:

It's your guys' fault for crying.

Mig:

The balls of them to say you pull up to the driveway oh, will you be using your app? You're like no. But then you go up to the driveway, oh, will you be using your app? Your, whatever? You're like no, but then, like you, go up there, there's a tip jar. Yeah, like motherfuckers, like what if I was using the app and you're still asking for a tip?

Lano:

yeah, you know, and that's the case, they'll have a tip jar and then, like the software, that was it. Now they don't even say it's gonna ask you a question now, but it's gonna ask you a question.

Mig:

You're, if you're in a restaurant and you have a good server and they're polite and they're fun they're entertaining.

Rick:

That's guaranteed. That's guaranteed right there. That's a given.

Mig:

And what Mark's saying is just this other ridiculous stuff that Pretty much fast food places, like even the donut shop, the Chinito donut shop yeah, I don't know. Pretty much fast food places Like even the donut shop, the Chinito donut shop. Yeah, I don't know, I don't tip them, they just, they just I mean they pour the coffee and they get my donut there. Yeah, that's it.

Lano:

But they have a tip jar there or in the cell phone.

Rick:

They have a tip jar.

Lano:

Yeah.

Mig:

For one. Donuts are fucking getting expensive, so I'm not gonna. You guys, you wanna gouge me?

Lano:

How much is a dozen? How much is a dozen?

Mig:

No, check it out. My large coffee and my crumb cinnamon rolls Are like five. Twenty five Used to be like three bucks. Yeah, I'm like the hell I'm gonna be Fucking giving you. Yeah, dozens are Damn near twenty bucks now, lonel. Oh yeah, twenty are damn near 20 bucks now lano, oh yeah, 20 bucks 20 bucks dude have you guys um been to trejo's donuts?

Lano:

nah, we went, happened to go did you like it. It was pretty good, pretty good, I thought it'd be like just some they throw that name on them, on it and stuff, but I'm not I'm not um, I'm not a fan of that donut you you had it.

Rick:

There's too much going on. What did you get?

Mig:

I didn't. I probably got the most basic thing.

Lano:

So we only got a half a dozen. They're doing too much. A half a dozen was 20 bucks for six.

Mig:

That's bullshit, dude.

Lano:

We tried the horchata one, we tried the margarita one, which was pretty good like a margarita flavor, and then they have a abuelita one with abuelita chocolate. And then they had, um, uh, we like the, the mango, naso or something. It's all mongols like a jelly donut but it's like wrapped in it, I just like that. It had like like, um, ethnic flavors that like you won't get anywhere else and they taste it like pretty true to the flavors that they're saying when, but it?

Lano:

was six bucks for like I. I mean six donuts for 20 bucks.

Mig:

See, dude, I wouldn't pay that. Yeah, because if I want a donut, I want the donut that I grew up on.

Lano:

I don't want some bougie artisanal.

Mig:

They're doing too much you know, craft-made bullshit that they're going to charge me 10 bucks for. Yeah, they got too much going on with these damn donuts.

Mig:

You know Craft made bullshit that they're gonna charge me Ten bucks for yeah, that, that's they got too much going on With those damn donuts. Give me a maple bar.

Mig:

Even Give me a jelly donut, I'm happy. Even as I'm walking up and I look at that window and if I see those damn Donuts Look like they've been Been A day old, two days old, I was like man, I'm out. And that's the chinitos. The chinitos spot. See it's like at most I'll do a maple bacon At most. That's pretty good.

Lano:

It's $3.75 a donut Average price. We got the mangonadas even $4. The F Abuelita cinnamon roll donut.

Mig:

Those are small man.

Lano:

No, they're regular-sized donuts, it's just a small pitcher.

Mig:

Nah bullshit.

Lano:

Horchata, meatball, mangonada, margarita OG, quinceanera and then pineapple fritter and strawberry Strawberry shortcake $4.

Mig:

Nah, apple fr. And then pineapple fritter, strawberry shortcake four bucks nah apple fritter. I'm not paying those prices for that donut well, if I go, I'll bring some.

Lano:

Next time, if I go out there before a show, bring some Randy donuts. That's my wife's favorite. Oh, they have breakfast donuts, bring some. Randy donuts. If you're gonna bring Randy's donuts, do bring me a jelly, cause that's my wife's favorite. Oh, they have breakfast burritos. Yeah, bring some Randy Donuts, man, randy Donuts, why don't I try their breakfast burrito?

Mig:

If you're going to bring Randy's Donuts, do bring me a jelly, because their jelly donuts are Fuck that breakfast burrito Off the hizzo.

Lano:

Nah, I used to think Randy's was like doing too much. What With all their stuff?

Mig:

Nah, just like you know, simple blades don't get the shit, oh winchell's over here on by lucky. So yeah, yeah, yeah, um, hey, it's a little sidetrack. What the what the fuck are people doing to shopping carts? Dude, I get like at home depot or something like. Why, why, why are the wheels getting so fucked up at the grocery store? I don't know At Costco, what are they getting? That's messing up the wheels Like at a grocery store. Yeah.

Mig:

I don't know there's nothing that's heavy enough that's going to mess up those wheels. I'll get okay at Home Depot. You'll put some damn bags of cement in there Like it'll fuck up the wheels. Yeah, maybe even Costco. There's some heavy shit at Costco, but at a grocery store there should not be any fucking Um, shopping cart Fucking, wibbling, wobbling At a fucking grocery store. Nah, what? I don't know. How do people mess them up? I don't. I don't get it. How are they messing up the cards? I don't get it. How are they messing up the carts? I don't know.

Lano:

I don't know you got me, dude. I've been shopping by. Well, you're talking about your neighborhood, huh, Because I've been shopping at your side of town and the carts are okay. I don't know.

Mig:

I go to Sam's.

Lano:

I mean I've been going to I mean even Target, even Target You're going.

Mig:

I mean even, even target, even target.

Lano:

Pretty good, even target target has fucked up wheels now before like I used to just grab a basket and go, but now, like that, I have kids, I gotta get it, wipe it down, do all this. I never did all that stuff before, but now they got kids I gotta like I'm putting them in the seats and they're always like super sticky. That's what I don't like. I gotta use the white piece I gotta use like three or four white peas to like get that stickiness off before I load the girls in them Now you think it's other kids eating stuff.

Mig:

I don't know, I don't know, it's like they should like steam them or something.

Lano:

I hope it's not an adult leaving something.

Mig:

They're grubby paws eating some shit.

Lano:

I mean because now that like it could be anything. And when do you? What Target do you guys go to? Mostly the one in East Pasadena. There's a Starbucks in it, yeah, a Starbucks in it, because there's like a lot of the stores we go to are right there.

Mig:

You should check If you get like a, an ice drink or something right there, then you get a free refill If you're in the store.

Lano:

Oh, you do so.

Mig:

If you drink it, then before you go out, get it. Yeah, Vanessa told me I'm going to try it. Well, I'll try it.

Lano:

We'll try it.

Mig:

But you know, when you get there, get your drink.

Lano:

Yeah, first. Well, it's always right there by the entrance. It has to be within there.

Mig:

Yeah, so if you're drinking inside the store or whatever, then I think you can. I don't think I'll ever be inside of Get a refill. So, yeah, fuck the people that Wanna get tipped Just for not doing anything.

Lano:

And to say, like what Manny said. We're with you, mark. Like um, we've been ordering a lot of that Johnny Pastrami on Adams and it's kinda out there, so like I'll tip the guy, cause I know like it was like a journey to bring it.

Mig:

Well, I know If he's bringing you the sandwich, yeah.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

All these people, the Uber.

Lano:

Hey, rick, we decided that's number one pastrami. You gotta try it. You haven't tried it yet.

Rick:

Pretty damn good, johnny pastrami on Adams.

Mig:

Crenshaw on Adams. It's good If you go on the 10, get off on Crenshaw and Adams. It's good If you go on the 10, get off on Crenshaw head south to Adams, make a left and then look on your left side and you'll see it.

Mig:

It's kind of I'm always it looks kind of hidden Dude I guarantee you, I guarantee you, you've passed it and probably didn't even notice it because I've passed it and didn't notice. I've noticed it, even notice it because I've passed it and didn't notice. I've noticed it, but the times I've noticed it I thought it was closed down. Check it out.

Lano:

Johnny's on Adams, johnny's on Adams, but everything that I've had there is good Just get the pastrami dip, because they have a Reuben too.

Mig:

They have a thick cut pastrami sandwich like a New York style. But you want to get the pastrami dip, don't get the chili cheese fries. They suck. Save me the trouble right now. I just don't know why people don't put no love in their chili in places Like why have just chili?

Lano:

That's something I want to do, I mean, besides the chili cheese fries, like who has the best chili.

Mig:

It's hard. It's hard to make a good chili, but who's best? Yeah, well, they got the recipe down well, cypress, you order a? Cup of chili at cypress best you probably could, or I've never done it. I think so. And fucking patras, man, patras is fucking good chili, fucking surprised the hell out of me you guys you guys, you gave him the edge over Cypress At one time.

Lano:

No.

Rick:

Not the edge. No.

Mig:

It's, it's, it's. It's a solid chili. Yeah, it's really good, it's it's bomb, but I think it comes down to the person's preference. But that chili is really damn good.

Lano:

Okay now. I haven't had this in a long time.

Mig:

This is the little thing that Cypress does with their chili. I prefer that taste.

Lano:

I haven't had this in a long time, but a Wiener Stitzel chili cheese dog.

Mig:

How was that? I just had that yesterday. That's a good chili.

Lano:

I mean, I like that chili, right or no?

Mig:

You know what, though, dude?

Lano:

Has it changed it?

Mig:

just it has to be theirs. Yeah, it has to be theirs I mean, but it has to be like on their hot dog.

Lano:

Their slice of cheese On their fries. How many did you get? Right now they have a chili cheese deal where you get two chili cheese dogs and a small chili cheese fries For six bucks, but wasn't it like eight for like four bucks or something?

Mig:

Like they would have special, like a big. You get five for like ten bucks.

Lano:

But it was like, wasn't it five?

Mig:

for five or something before in the past. Yeah, before.

Lano:

I remember I just ordered like bags, like bags full of chili cheese dogs, but you go.

Mig:

And they're always trying to like, like, upsize you. Now it's like you want it all beef. You know what? I'm saying you want the quarter pound. It's like you want this, just tell them no on everything.

Lano:

But that changes all the flavor, the quarter pound or the beef. That changes everything From the classic.

Mig:

It's like just say no to everything.

Rick:

The classic yeah.

Mig:

Just say no to everything and just get it the way it comes.

Lano:

Yeah, cause I used to eat like eight of them or nine of them.

Mig:

Hey, what would you guys say is the perfect dipping, chip or dip Not not salsa, not salsa, but not, not the. I mean not salsa. Dip, not salsa, but not the, Not salsa dip, and they're about to dip.

Lano:

Dip was for the rich people, the creamy dip Only had the chips.

Mig:

French onion no, no, no Chip. What's the best dipping chip?

Lano:

Probably just like a Ruffles right With the grooves, that's what I was thinking.

Mig:

Ruffles pretty solid, the Ruffles cheddar cheese. Or the Ruffles right With the grooves, that's what I was thinking. Ruffles is pretty solid, the Ruffles cheddar, cheddar cheese.

Lano:

Or the Ruffles sour cream.

Mig:

It depends what you're going to be dipping it in Like the French onion or the ranch, that type, that type of dip. Yeah, ruffles, I would say Ruffles, ruffles is the perfect.

Mig:

Better than Doritos Better than.

Mig:

Lay's Ruffles is the perfect, better than Doritos, better than Lays. Better than Lays. They're too thin, they're gonna break.

Lano:

Yeah, the real thing, yeah, oh yeah, dip it up and down, so you dip it when you bring it up the weight of the.

Mig:

The dip's gonna crack it, gonna fall in, so you go in there and try to dig it out. I feel.

Mig:

Ruffles are underrated. Ruffles is a damn good chip man. I mean, doritos are my favorite Now like a tortilla chip.

Lano:

I like it for salsa, but I don't like it for dip. You need to go to a school party. They have them there like for the, but I don't like it for the dip, like the saltiness and the dip don't go together, but it's good for salsa, yeah but like, yeah, like a ruffle, like a plain ruffle.

Mig:

I mean I always.

Lano:

Or a cheese dip for the, for the yeah, yeah, like a whatever seven layer dip or something like that I don't know.

Mig:

I was just thinking that ruffles are underrated chip but now I'm thinking about dude.

Lano:

I don't think I've seen like plain in a while. It's always like the Castle or something. What Ruffles.

Mig:

The cheddar cheese, yeah, or the sour cream.

Lano:

Yeah, but they don't have a plain one, right? There's not like a flavorless one. Sour cream.

Mig:

Yeah, they just got regular Ruffles.

Lano:

But I don't think I've seen them at the markets. Yeah, yeah.

Mig:

Regular. My mom gets them all the time. Oh, okay, I'm going to the wrong market. She doesn't like the flavored ones. I think they have them at Costco too. Get a huge bag, A huge bag.

Lano:

Now when you open a bag, it's done, or you like tie it up or wrap it up and save it for another day. I mean Tie it up or wrap it up and save it for another day.

Mig:

I mean, how big a bag are you talking I?

Lano:

don't know the right average, because we open up and it's gone.

Mig:

The kids are eating it.

Lano:

Everybody's eating it until there's crumbs.

Mig:

I've eaten that damn Costco Dorito bag in one sitting yeah. A movie, or I mean the shit's dangerous. Doritos. Doritos are dangerous. I'll eat it. I'll eat it. I'll eat it until, like, my tongue starts burning because of the cheese or whatever. You see Ruffles by themselves can't eat them like that.

Rick:

I can eat the cheddar cheese like that. You need to implement to something.

Mig:

I can eat the cheddar cheese like that. Ruffles you see, but the Ruffles or cheddar cheese ones, there's only so much you can have, but Doritos, I don't know what it is about Doritos, dude, that you can just keep popping them, dude, and you don't stop. Shit the jalapeno cheddar, cheetos, man, those things are bomb, dude, those things are a thing. Jalapeno. I don't think I've tried those J Jalapeno. I don't think I've tried those Jalapeno cheddar. Cheetos, yeah, cheetos.

Lano:

Because now everything with Cheetos is all flaming hot. This is not flaming hot.

Mig:

They're not flaming hot dude, they're Jalapeno Cheetos.

Lano:

I know that flaming hot took over everything.

Mig:

Not that flaming hot bullshit. These are actually good flavorful spicy Cheetos. Yeah, Now um Chili cheese Fr. These are actually good flavorful Spicy Cheetos. Yeah, Now um Chili cheese Fritos. Chili cheese Fritos or the honey Barbecue twist. Honey barbecue twist. Yeah, those are good.

Lano:

I've had that one. It's like sweet, it's like a little twist, like a pasta twist.

Mig:

Those are good. I've had that one. It's like sweet, it's like a little twist, like a pasta twist. Those are good. I've never had them.

Lano:

Now you said it was Fritos or Cheetos. On that jalapeno one Cheetos, cheetos, yeah, cheetos.

Mig:

The Fritos chili cheese. Those are bomb with the sandwich.

Mig:

With the sandwich exactly.

Rick:

I always get those. With the sandwich, yeah. With the fuck, yeah, I always.

Mig:

I always get those with the sandwich. That's a must. I mean with that and those cheetos too yeah yeah, but I mean chili cheese fritos with the bomb ass deli sandwich. That's what's up right there. That's what I'm talking about. That's a bunch of champions right there, man.

Lano:

Now during the week I sent you guys a video, william East LA. Did you guys watch it? No one responded. William, yeah.

Mig:

Oh shit no. Play a little bit of Snippet.

Lano:

I want to see a reaction, because I was kind of curious to see what you guys were thinking. Remember, kind of curious to see what you guys were thinking. But remember, don't play the whole song, dude. Yeah, I'm about to stop. I've seen a lot of reactions. I'm just going to try to stop where they stop. But, um, william, yeah, william, east LA.

Mig:

Oh, that's what it was. It was a song, huh, oh yeah.

Lano:

Yeah, it's a song, but you have to see the video.

Mig:

Oh, that's why I didn't watch it. You got a bad record sending the songs dude. Yeah, you're, let's see here.

Lano:

Hit the mute button, so it's on. I'm going to do a full screen so you get the full effect full effect. So first like see he has the, I'll try it. Here we go it's 32 52.

Rick:

Oh, it's lafc. Oh it's her. It's 32, 52. It's-c. Fool. I'm here with my Ruka, maria. Maria, she's a love in the story, welcome to Boyle Heights Worldwide.

Lano:

So I'm just going to be pausing it so we can talk about it, because I don't want to get binged for this. But he's using the sample from Santana and I guess Wycliffe or Santana, and he's repeating it. But it's a nice video. They show parts of the hook. That's dope.

Rick:

Food rats. All that break dancing is badass. Og veteranos say honra. All that break dancing is badass, all right.

Lano:

So they're just showing places of the neighborhood, the projects. That's David's whole project right there. Yeah, so William's 40.

Mig:

How old's David 40. He's 40.

Mig:

That's not David Baxter dancing 7, 48.

Lano:

Like under the bridge? Oh, no, no, william's 50. Willi, william's 50. William's 50, sorry, not 40, I think. I said I think david's 49. No, you're young you think he's like 48 does he have two or three

Rick:

has he ever said anything about william like they?

Lano:

grew up in the projects together. Uh no, you know I'm gonna. I try. I texted him the song but he never replied. I don't know what's right number or not he called.

Mig:

He called me a few weeks ago.

Rick:

He said I was gonna be in columbia yeah, I don't know if he's back or not, so that's probably why he's back.

Lano:

He's probably. He's probably back in school.

Rick:

No, because I wanted to ask him if, um if he grew up, I was raisedrada Courts With David.

Lano:

No, I'm going to stop it because it's going to switch beats right now. But what are you guys thinking? So far, I like it, you like it, all right, yeah, so apparently Tabu the other guy. He grew up in Dogtown, which is the projects over here off of Main Street. Dogtown, yeah, dogtown, yeah yeah. Welcome to Boyle Heights.

Rick:

Worldwide way is 605 on the 710 on the 60 freeway in East LA East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East, la East. I don't want to get dinged, so I'm doing it.

Lano:

Yeah, that's good so this is two parts of Black Eyed Peas Taboo and what I Am. But, they said they didn't make it a whole Black Eyed Peas song because only them are from East LA. He's from what did?

Mig:

I say Dogtown.

Lano:

Dogtown and then he grew up in high school he transferred to Rosemead. It's all about the LAFC. I'm sorry Dolores is not in the video. That's all her spots. They're showing all her spots in the hood coming up. Cause that's all her spots. They're showing all her spots in the hood and stuff. But I sent it to her and she's like what? Do you think and I said, I like it, she's like me too, she was all, she was all into it we should invite her hey, you gotta, you gotta, I think.

Lano:

Pause longer, dude pause for breaks in between yeah yeah, I hope they don't ding us, because well, I'll just have to silence, or something you know, you know what I'm like but I see this all the time it really reminds me a lot of uh kid frost yeah listening to kid frost back in the day.

Mig:

Yeah, you know it's like he has that, that same flow, and you know, just like natural. You know it's like he doesn't sound like forced or anything no, no, no, yeah you know it's like, so you could really tell that he flows good you know?

Lano:

yeah, he grew up in the neighborhood you know, yeah, and I've been seeing, I've been watching a lot of interviews since the song came out and like he tells, like his story and and like he talks like that, he said this is the way I talked growing up. And then he even gave a shout out to kid frost, saying that, um, because kid frost used a sample back in the day and he said that's why he wanted to use a sample of santana to that's the vibe that I'm getting man sometimes with this, this stuff um, I like this is this is cool, it's.

Mig:

It's the pride of when we grew up.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

You know, la, it's straight LA. You know, and, like you said, it just flows out Natural, yeah it. I don't know. The vibe, the vibe, the vibe is hitting right.

Lano:

Right.

Mig:

It hits just right, just perfect.

Lano:

So that picture that was him and his family Growing up in the projects, that, yes, you rewind it. I can never stop it on time, but it's like right here oh.

Rick:

That's crazy.

Lano:

I just went back too fast in the project right there. Yeah, that's crazy. So he's one of these kids and he still talks about like um, like his uncle still works at salazar park and and all this. That's what he's still like in the community that's dope family Still like in the community.

Rick:

That's dope Family. Hey, pause it.

Mig:

Could you imagine if LAFC was around when we were kids?

Mig:

I know.

Mig:

Oh, yeah, how much bigger.

Lano:

I mean, it's huge right now For us, more than the Raiders. I think we'd be diehard.

Mig:

Yeah, no, I really think so, I really think it would be Because I mean it's huge right now. I mean if it started way back, I mean this has only been around eight years, yeah, I can imagine if this was going on, like if they, if there was a soccer league and they were the here when we were growing up. Man, yeah, but I mean you're talking about, um, like the soccer influence being no, that's what I'm saying you know if, if they had done a league, yeah, back then.

Mig:

Because? I mean because back then the influence wasn't the same as it is today. You know, I mean back then you were kind of ashamed if you were, you still I'm in the hardcore, the hardcore soccer people.

Lano:

Yeah, you were made fun of well, but I think this would have made it More mainstream. Yeah.

Mig:

Yeah, because it's a league. That's what I'm saying.

Lano:

The league would be present Because before the league was like in Mexico, so you were getting Made fun of.

Mig:

When we were growing up, yeah, the league was already in place. And growing up With this, with this team, oh yeah, the type, the type of kids.

Rick:

Yeah.

Mig:

That we were and, and.

Lano:

having a team like this with us, it'd be crazy, I mean the league's been around 20 years, but the Galaxy don't get this love. I mean they were never a part of us. I mean they were playing at the Rose Bowl, which is Pasadena, and now they're playing in Carson.

Mig:

They were never home, they were never truly LA. Yeah, no, I'm just saying this thing would have, but I think, like us, like this would have been bigger than us, than they're like the Raiders and stuff.

Lano:

We would have been all diehard watching this, I think.

Mig:

Is there people? Is there people that have been bandwagons on the LAFC from out of state? I think so. There's some fans.

Rick:

Yeah.

Lano:

Like I'll see some Like YouTubers, like from like Britain. They watch. They're big LAFC fans Like just cause it's big.

Mig:

And then Cause this right here, I mean this, this style, I mean the style that LAFC has.

Lano:

Even diehard Galaxy fans. Like I've kind of turned them. They're like oh no, like this is like Like a lot better.

Mig:

Yeah, more comfortable. This, like this, is like like a lot better, yeah, more comfortable.

Lano:

This would attract a lot of people just because the swag, the swag that the foundation of LAFC has and I kind of like the shot, like they make it look like almost like City Hall, like the Sears building, like yeah that's like the. East. La City Hall or something like that 32, 52,. What do we say? We are Los Angeles, ah-oo, ah-oo, ah-oo. We are Los Angeles, ah-oo, ah-oo, ah-oo. We are Los Angeles, ah-oo, ah-oo, ah-oo. We are Los Angeles, ah-oo, ah-oo, ah-oo. So that was like the 32-252, like doing the chant they're playing that.

Mig:

They're gonna be playing that crazy.

Lano:

I haven't been to a game since the song came out, but they're gonna be playing that crazy but I just wanted to show you guys it's just dope that you know, William being a huge fan, be real.

Mig:

And travel, travel, being a huge fan. Yeah, be real. And travel um shovel, um fucking will ferrell, I mean, they're all la people, man yeah, hey, did you guys see?

Lano:

um, I don't know what's hbo? They're free to know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's like a documentary I'll travel or something. You sell it like a, like a remake there is right, there's something.

Mig:

Yeah, I saw that.

Lano:

Well, I saw, like on HBO, like the picture and I didn't click on. It's like a documentary about the guy.

Mig:

I don't know about growing up. Yeah, oh, my travel, I'll travel, travel.

Lano:

Yeah, like uh yeah like about him making the character, yeah and going.

Mig:

I haven't seen that was one of you guys thought well that's why, I don't know, it feels like on the HBO Latino or one of those.

Lano:

I think it's just a regular.

Mig:

Or it feels like a series or something.

Lano:

The life and how he got big and all that stuff.

Mig:

So yeah, I wanted to see what you guys said about it. It was good, huh, yeah, I liked it. You finally sent a good video, dude.

Lano:

Good music. Hopefully they don't ding us for it now I don't even know mark's like because he didn't respond either. It's in the mark.

Mig:

Well he's probably thinking the same thing. Oh yeah, he's probably gun shy.

Rick:

He was thinking that you don't have a very good record dude donald's music tastes.

Lano:

Yeah, it's whack so, um, I guess we'll we'll be back next week, huh yeah, let's get back.

Mig:

let's get back next week. Get back on track. No Netflix for me tonight, so it was nice, yes sir, I'm sick of that job.

Lano:

You're all done working it.

Mig:

Nah, I'll be there tomorrow night. There's still some stuff there, but I was able to pull away today. Get her done. Yep, hey, no more people dying. Huh, I know there's a lot, a lot of people. I mean not even Regular people, people just in general.

Rick:

No promises, but.

Mig:

Let's make history. Let's just have one day that no one dies. That's uh, that's tough, but we can't keep on drifting yo Peace, god bless you all.
