Food Review and Movie Discussion
MigWelcome back to the Drifting On Arroyo podcast . This is Mig .
LanoThis is Lano, and RK67 .
MigWe are stuffed . Yeah , thank you , mr Hernandez , a very big thank you . The tacos were delicious , those ribs were awesome .
LanoOur dinner was sponsored by Lana's dad . And what was ?
Rickthe tacos .
MigI believe it was tacos del cabrón and we had memolitas . Which is kind of like a play on words , because they cook everything over coals or Got one is pretty much coals , but I'm sure they use mesquite or something because those ribs had really good flavor .
LanoI didn't think I was going to eat everything and I just slowly realized my plate was empty .
RickWell , me and you both ate the memolita first , yeah , and then they made it in the heat to set the ribs .
MigI want to tell them those ribs . Yeah , about a plate and a half of ribs .
LanoWait , you got some of our ribs away .
RickYeah , there was like four plates of ribs .
MigThere's still some left over .
RickYeah , there's still some left .
MigAnd then don't show it to me , I think my wife took a plate of memolitas .
RickI think there's three or four of them .
LanoWhy'd you give her a plate of the ribs that ?
Rickwas the first thing I opened and she was like , oh , I'll take that , but the ribs , I don't know how you eat the ribs with tacos . I mean the bones get in my way .
LanoYeah , that's dangerous . I don't know if they get the meat off the bone and put it on the tortilla , but there's no way .
RickYou just put them on right there .
LanoYou're going to crack a tooth Like that's dangerous man .
MigBut we're good .
RickYeah delicious . So it looks like it's East LA . It says number one , east LA Over here on tacos a cabron waiting for their Instagram to pop up . But Atlantic Boulevard , one one zero zero nine South Atlantic Boulevard and then another one , olympic , so it was from one of those . But yeah , they have an Instagram following . Yeah , here are the ribs . Yeah , take a big , big light , oops , yeah they're delicious , everything was delicious .
LanoThank you , mike . Try it out , people Try it out , it's a big big sponsor you recommend ?
RickI kind of want to get this out of the way . What ?
LanoBut I don't know . If you guys want to say anything , what's ?
Rickbetter . Now the blue beetle .
LanoThe blue beetle , the new Marvel character .
RickNo , no , no DC .
LanoOh , is it DC ? Okay , oh , and then I want to ask you something else .
RickLike I mean Mickey brought up a point where like like what happened to the heater dude .
LanoMy legs are cold . You know , I thought you're going to bring in .
RickI wasn't trying to bring the . You know , my wife said that she might . She said there might be a heater in here .
MigShe got you , I got to look for it . That's why you brought the tacos to get your mind off the cold .
LanoYeah Well , the tacos are good . And then he did get us mineral water . The mineral water was making me burp just before we got on there .
RickWell , that's what it's supposed to do Clear your out so you're able to speak . Yeah , it was good .
LanoWell , burping , you know , it's not that bad . This was not that bad .
RickMickey . Mickey has an open . He's not a fan , but I got a look . She said there might be a heater in here .
LanoI say you try it , it's not that bad .
MigI'll take it home . I try it at home .
LanoYeah , it's pretty good . Okay , so the blue beetle , the beater DC , our superhero , superhero Mexican superhero , okay so this is this is my review , because I was watching it and I was . I started falling asleep in and out of it and out of it .
MigYeah , I did too . And then that's not a good sign .
RickYeah , right To me .
LanoI took , I thought in two cities , so yeah , I fell asleep along the long stretch and then I caught like the end of it , like already towards the end of it . So what I've seen , which we'll touch on right now , but based on what I've seen it , I don't want to go back and finish watching what I missed , like it's , it's , it's yeah , it's a movie that's like all right , whatever .
MigSee , unlike you , I did go back to the point where I fell asleep . I was not going to what I missed .
LanoWhat I , what I watched , didn't make me intrigued or interested in seeing what that plot , that's all is like . You really didn't matter , didn't make the movie much better or nothing , so it's like I was sort of pockamated , but I was like you know , we're not , we're not doing this one .
RickI mean , but it's a Mexican . I mean he's Mexican , but it's like for all . I mean like I don't want all the wrong reasons , but it was too much of what Vanessa was telling me about was offended .
LanoI was like it's not . It's not that I was offended . Right , it's like played out . Yeah , the stereotype , you know Mexican family you , got me , got me , it's funny .
RickThis wasn't funny , so she told me she saw it in the past right . The what you said . Vanessa had seen it in the past .
LanoNo , she didn't see . No , we weren't watching it for the first time and she thought she'd brought away .
RickSo she didn't like it , she didn't care for it .
LanoNo , she didn't . She's on my movie . She , she was sitting on my movies .
Opinions on DC Movies
RickAre you guys watching the movie night 11pm or you can start no we'll start like damn seven , seven , eight .
MigBut you know what I've noticed too Well . Just like with me , regardless of what time I start the movie , if it's not good like , if it doesn't have me first time , grab my attention and like having like into it , I fall asleep . It could be at 12 in the afternoon , it could be at midnight , Doesn't matter , yeah , but I could . On the counterpoint , I could start watching a movie at midnight and if it just just in has me engaged in everything , I'll stay up to like three in the morning , watch the whole thing through and not fall asleep Because when we were younger , when we were kids , we would stay up and watch them .
MigYeah , but what I'm saying is that when the movie's good , like your mind keeps going and keeps you away . But when it's not good and you're not engaged and you're not like thinking about like okay .
LanoSo when we were kids , I mean , did we think every movie was great ? We must have watched some crap .
MigNo , I mean . Well , it's not like we're falling asleep . The thing is well , this comes with age , you know , it's like yeah , we're kids now .
RickWe're tired .
MigWe're kids , we're full of energy , so up all night .
RickYeah , now what I before like I mean I'm a big movie guy where like I started a movie after like finish it .
MigYeah .
RickLike I don't like at the theater , like I don't step out to the bathroom , I'll hold it until it finishes . And then , but like with my wife , she's , she's , it's more is like okay , like it was late , like let's stop it and we'll finish it tomorrow . And I could do that now . Or like this is one we started late , like we started at 11 , we saw like an hour of it or 45 minutes , and then she , she'll tell me like you're falling asleep , let's stop it , and then we'll stop it , then the next day catch it or the next , whatever following day We'll watch it . But before I wouldn't be able to do like just stop a movie , good or bad . Now I can just stop a movie and watch it later , maybe those tapes or nothing .
RickSo you stay and stay up and watch it .
MigYou see it . Look , perfect , perfect example , I tried watching Blue Beetle . I didn't like it . Maybe fall asleep . How to go back and rewatch it ? What I missed ? It just didn't engage me at all mentally .
LanoOkay , so at first .
MigSo another movie I hadn't watched yet that I've been wanting to watch was Guardians of the Galaxy 3 . Now that one . I did not doze that off . I didn't doze off not one bit . You know , I think that one could be like a masterpiece , that one , that movie had me fully engaged because the story , just the whole storyline was great . You know , it just keeps your mind going , you know , and it just keeps you engaged and it's weird .
LanoIt's based on why you would go back If you from originally you didn't like it , regardless that you missed this .
Migthat like if you , if what you watched you didn't like , because you wake up at a point and you see stuff happening and you're like whoa , how did they get here ? So that's why I rewind it to see how they got there . And then , once I see what I missed , I'm like well , I didn't really miss much then , because they didn't really explain much .
LanoSo you just missed a little bit and you had to rewind a little bit back and then watch Like 15 minutes . Oh , so it wasn't like a big chunk of the movie .
RickNo , we don't know until you see it like how much you missed . I mean , it's kind of like a food review . You can't just like buy tacos and then like what if they're known for their burritos ? Or like what if they're known for their chicken . Like you got to kind of try out the whole menu before you can review it you see but for me no , you can't compare that .
LanoI just think you can't compare that shit .
MigI just think DC sucks at making comic movies that's me . Or movies , this period movies , that's every DC movie that has come out . Yeah , I have not liked any DC movies that has come out . The only one that's even come close to me , even liking , was the original Wonder Woman . Yeah , because even the second one was like come on .
RickIt's like they just went way too far with it , and it was over the top , but they try to take like the best parts and make it into a whole movie , like you know , but but , but the first Wonder Woman .
MigI thought that was done really well . But all the other DC movies that they made , man , I just like I can't . You know , I can't get behind it , and they're kind of like dark .
RickI mean not like like dark in story , but like this . Like DC is kind of dark , but like this maybe I mean , that's their theme but the viewing is kind of like dark DC was a little bit dark , dark scenes and dark .
MigThey're darker than I mean , they rarely ever made a good movie . Mean , they knocked out of the park with Christopher Nolan in the Dark Knight trilogy . That that's probably their , their pinnacle right there . That's the peak . Oh yeah , you know they did a really good job with them . Was that ? It was the one .
LanoIt was obscure , it was um , all those superheroes just asleep just no , no no , no , it was um the suicide oh , I don't think that was DC though .
MigI think it was X-men . No , not X-men , not X-men . I'm shazam and stuff , no , no no , no , no , no Um . I know what you're talking about .
LanoWhat's the name of that movie ? Watchman ?
Migwatchman . There you go , watchman Is that DC was that DC .
RickI don't know , I don't know what to look it up .
LanoYeah , I look it up , I don't . I don't think that's DC .
MigOh well , I mean , if it was , then they did a really good job . Watchman was bad ass .
LanoYeah , watchman is bad you know , but but have you seen that one ?
RickNo , that one's there's two , right , there's like a . I mean , there's like a new exact scenario . Well , this is 2009 . Is that the one you guys talking about ?
LanoYeah , yeah .
RickThis is Warner Brothers . Oh yeah , it is DC .
MigIt is yeah , oh , okay , yeah , you see so that those two are the only ones are yeah , watch watchman .
LanoWatchman is a badass .
MigYeah , so watchman is on the top and the Dark Knight trilogy but that I mean watchman kind of stand alone .
RickI mean , was it like universe or no ?
Migbut it was . It was like a graphic novel right , yeah . Dc made , yeah , you know . So it has , like it's cult following , but the movie I think was done really well . Yeah , that movie was bad .
RickIt was awesome , that was Zack Snyder . It says directed by Zack Snyder , you know .
MigBut like , as far as all this other commercial crap that they've tried to , they try to like Do some more blockbusters with , like Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey and Justice League and Aquaman and just Nah booty , son booty .
RickNo Shazam . I think it's part of it . Shazam was okay .
MigI mean , I mean I watched both of them and they're , they're fun . They're fun movies , you know we're like for the kids , you know . But um , I mean I was in the Christopher Reeves Superman . Oh yeah .
RickDC .
LanoBut like .
RickSuperman , the last guy like I couldn't get into him . I like you know I couldn't get . I was like what ? Like ? I mean I was as a kid . You know I'm watching Superman and all of them , richard prior , all that stuff , but this other one like I couldn't get to it .
LanoWhat about the ? The new ?
Opinions on Batman, Superman, Blue Beetle
LanoI was a . Superman and Batman . Was it superman ?
MigWell , yeah , that's right , we'll fight each other , yeah .
LanoYeah , I think I said that was we ever see that one ?
RickI saw it .
MigIt was kind of like I think , ben Affleck is Batman . Yeah , I'm gonna see Ben Affleck Batman and what makes them fight .
RickMark likes .
LanoBen Affleck as Batman . I mean over the statue , the stature of Ben Affleck .
RickIt's kind of fits the chain and all that stuff .
LanoBut I just it's been after . I'm like yeah . Exactly , it kills it . For me , I mean , even though he that's far as appearance , it kind of fits perfect of what Batman is . It's just been Affleck . I don't like that .
RickBut to me it's like I'm team Matt Damon . You see Ben Affleck playing Batman . It's not Batman Like the Christopher Nolan's , like . I didn't even know who that actor was , you just knew he was Batman at the time when he came out . I can't even think of his name right now . Christian bill yeah , christian bill , like I mean , he wasn't a big . Was he a big name when he came out ? Or that made yeah , think he was bigger after . I mean , they kind of made him .
LanoHe played , which is name ?
RickI don't know that was a big , big hit or big six . I'm haven't seen that movie cycle .
MigIt was like American cycle . Now I don't know , you know this big game , but I'll tell you .
RickThat after the Justice League , like the studio , wanted to like reboot the whole , like studio refranchise . So they got a James Gunn . He's the new president of DC , so he's in a like he's taking over the whole studio , he's gonna reboot all the director directed the Guardians .
MigHe directed the .
RickGuardians and Guardians , like you know , it's superhero , it's comedy , like the right amount of music , everything . But he did the suicide squad which a lot of people like . I mean I wasn't one of them , but a lot of people really liked the second suicide squad but I thought it was like too much , too cheesy and they try to do the music like , trying to do like their own version of Guardians . But to me I mean I didn't like it . But this , the blue Beatles , the first movie with , with him in charge , james Gunn , so this was like supposed to be , like miss the new , the new phase .
RickSo this is gonna this was his .
MigThat's a miss for me , I mean to me when I'm watching it I'm just thinking this is a ripoff of Iron man .
LanoAnd he told me that like a lot of kids in the suit you know that and the suit you know has . You know what I didn't like when he gets in the suit like how much he complains like he's just Complaining . A pain , yeah , and how to control it . Yeah , it's like dude shut up already .
MigBut not only that , it's like he's not controlling it . The suits controlling himself . Yeah , you know , and I'm like , oh so , I was like this dumb little beater doesn't , doesn't have what it takes to control this thing .
LanoYou know what , now that you bring it up ? No , I'm now , I'm offended .
RickYeah , the same like shots of the face .
LanoI see , I see , I know the computer connection the flying up learning how to fly .
MigYou know , and that that's why to me , like Iron man , you know it's way superior because it's totally stark , they built it . He built the system . Yeah , he knows the system in and out . You know he built the voice and everything , the artificial intelligence to run it and everything , and and blue beetle is just some Alien thing that attaches up to him , and if he doesn't know what he's doing , then I'll do it for him . Yeah now , rick , did you like ? What kind of a further ?
Rickof action . Crap , is that the ? What did you recognize Becky G ? Oh . No , I probably missed parts with her she was the voice , the voice of blue beetle . No .
LanoI didn't , I didn't , even I didn't make the connection and I don't even think it sounded like her .
RickIt sounded like a robot or something .
LanoYeah , I was like a robot , like computer or something and then , and then many , and then menu has said that , that that it doesn't come out as much . Yeah , lopez , he comes out a lot .
MigHe's annoying dude .
LanoYeah , it's like a stupid uncle that's . That's all loud with yeah . I know we're in the truck .
MigYeah , no , no , I tell you , and the story is so weak and it's so horrible and there's so many holes in it , it's so flawed , it's like where , at what point , does the George Lopez character all of a sudden become this ? You know this technical savant , this hacker you know where he . Mysteriously brings out . You know what was it ? What he called it like red or red and gold or whatever , to block the signal .
RickI really can't see the cameras . Lot of like trash cans or whatever . Like he's making some . I like it just so happens .
MigIt's like this like Batman having the shark repellent in his belt when the sharks Chomping on his leg . Yeah , they didn't a grudge . I'm happy to have it , you know , you know just in case I need to , you know , to jam some signals , I can fly a spaceship like whatever , like you know yeah , they give that spaceship and he knows how to fly it .
MigLike come on and using it like Tackle yeah , and then the , the final , the final thing they really Pull me over the top that you guys thought was funny or whatever , was the grandma , whatever .
LanoMany was . Yeah , I didn't see that when she got all like Grandma with a gun . Yeah .
MigYeah , so they make her seem like she . She was part of the revolution , everything living her life again .
RickShe knew how to be in the revolution .
MigYeah , I'm like it's like , do you guys even know when the Mexican Revolution was ? It's like , do you realize how old she would have to be To relive those days ? It's like you know , say it's pretty many , are you that ? Well , yeah , she was probably a baby . I'm like , exactly , and then this would be at the end of the revolution . She would have to have been a baby and been about 120 years old right now . Yeah , I'm like , come on , it's just . I mean , oh , I just don't like that .
LanoOkay , the Mexican family , and then they do the whole stupid spanglish .
MigYeah .
LanoLingo is like all right , man , that's already played out . That's what .
MigI feel most they were . That's what , that's what bugs me the most funny .
LanoIt's not and it's played out .
MigIt's like not , not even . Not even like Offends me , but like insults me .
RickI don't .
LanoKnow , it's like how you say it's played out .
MigIt's like because how many People's families or how many houses do you go over when , if the parents speak Spanish only or that word , they're talking like Spanglish or whatever ?
LanoYeah , yeah , it's not like , not like that .
MigYou know , it's like we don't like your mom's not talking . It's played out .
LanoIt's played out like George Lopez's comedy .
MigYeah .
LanoIt's like okay , the chocolate bunny . Yeah okay , let's talk like a cholo . All right , that's like we're driving the lowrider .
MigYeah .
LanoLet's make fun of relatives like .
MigFor Fred to have been a representation of the culture or whatever .
LanoIt's a representation , is just .
RickI'll ask you , mickey , like , was that like a real , real town or city ? Because he said , like it was like Panama City , right , or something .
LanoWell then , I say yeah , it looked like Miami and then like they're .
MigMexican .
LanoThey're the keys , the key lago . So how is it Mexicans ?
RickPuerto Ricans or Cubans or Cubans , or the whole look like it was like Miami especially Cubans . I mean , I don't even know what Panama it looks like , but like Panama City , so I don't . I don't know . I just and the kid like I , like him in Cobra Kai . So I'm kind of like disappointed , like this is like a role he got .
LanoIt's just the the way the kid just kept like , kept Not yelling , or just say how he was acting in the suit . Yeah , and then he's gonna be all cool with the girl Just yelling and yelling at you in the suit because he can't control it or whatever . He doesn't know what's happening . Yeah , it's like I hate characters like that man that are always like hyper and just constantly .
MigIt's like the first Transformers when we were the first .
LanoTransformers oh , it's been so good , dude .
RickYeah he's too amped up , he's too amped up , like always too .
MigAmped up , yeah .
RickNow , the only part I laughed was like when the suit was going on and they're like where'd it go ? Where'd it go ?
LanoIt's coming up and it's cool . The only part I laughed Because I thought that was funny , because I was like , where is it , where is it Turn ?
Rickaround . But other than that , like I mean , like you said , it's a knockoff of Iron man and I didn't know the character before and like I still kind of don't , and then you saw , there's like a after credit scene , like they're going to try to make a sequel or whatever . But I kind of expect them more from James Gunn .
MigI don't know . I just think it's a DC person . They just don't know how to make movies . Had you had like Marvel writers or something ? Well , even now the Marvel writers they try to .
LanoWas Joker a DC movie ? Noah , yeah , yeah , joker , yeah . So Joker was good , but the last , the end of it , the Joker they're making like its own universe .
RickJoker was good .
LanoJoker was was good . I'll say two thirds of it . I was one third of it . No , no , because it's telling you how his struggle is and how he's dealing with his situation . It's very like depressing . So it's too much of showing that . If they would have cut some of that out , then the movie would have been good . I agree , would have been good , because as soon as he took the whole character of the Joker . That's why I want to see Joker too , now that , if he's already the Joker , I want to see how the chaos starts .
RickBut now they're saying I mean , what I've heard is like it's going to be a musical , so I don't even know like can you compare it ?
LanoOh man , they're going to tear it up , they're going to mess with it .
RickCan you compare it , or like I mean it's Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn , but I heard it's like a musical .
LanoThey're going to be singing a lot .
RickSo I don't know if it's supposed to be funny or what serious or like . I don't
Discussion on Movies and Reviews
Rickknow what they're going to do . We have to wait till the trailer comes out .
LanoWow , I don't know , joker , I'll give half . Oh , we forgot to play half a star . Do it , do it , reverse . This is the last .
RickIt's time for Miggie's movie review .
MigMUSIC , music . That was our movie review , so make sure you do your edit and put that in the beginning .
RickAnd then I have a keep it where it's at . I have these for , like our food reviews . Yeah , your name . So I'll just play it . This is how we MUSIC About Blue Beetle our thoughts , music BOOP , music , laughs . So that's how we felt about the movie . That's how we felt about Blue Beetle .
LanoThat's a tight fart . Laughs .
MigAnd then I think that was good , like if we're like like we're indecisive about the movie I forgot .
RickIt's a close race , laughs .
LanoIt means like if we can't decide if it's good or not , then it's a tight little BOOP what I forgot . If it's a total if it's a total turd just .
MigOh , but there's like a bee .
LanoWhat else would be for the boobies ? A bee sloppywood . Do you remember ?
Migwhen there's a zoo and we see the hippos . Yeah , but they went under butts up against the wall .
RickOn the glass and they were taking dump .
MigThey , just like their tail , would be slapping the wall .
LanoOh yeah , like crap flying all over the place . Oh yeah , oh dude , is that the alley ?
Rickzoo the alley zoo dude .
LanoRemember the alley zoo had that crocodile that wouldn't move .
RickOh , yeah , yeah , in the front it was like on the entrance . No .
MigYeah , but .
RickI remember .
LanoThey had so many , so many quarters in the eye sockets Because people would be making a wish like dude . We go back every year and he's in the same spot . He hasn't moved . Is that crocodile Are you alive .
MigI always remember those damn hippos . Oh dude , that shit was disgusting .
LanoYeah , those nipples were ugly , they were disgusting . Yeah , like you said , disgusting .
RickWell , I forgot for tacos . That's not what I'm talking about . All right , all right . Yeah , girl we like that .
MigThat was some good cop man .
RickWhat's the phone number ? Mickey , you remember it 323-712-0012 . Oh OK .
LanoOh man , Did you just give everybody the wrong number ?
RickYou did 323-323 . Hold on , let me look further . I can't wait . We got to have it up written on the board .
LanoWhy you saying you're going to have it up ? I think I'm right .
MigThe last four digits are 0012 . Yeah , oh , 00 . 007 .
Lano323-207-0012 . Call us One more time , one more time .
RickAll right , say it 323-207-0012 .
LanoCall us if you think we're wrong , you like it .
RickLike if you think we're being sensitive with our culture or why we should like the movie I'm not offended . I'm just Call us why . And then , if you have a movie for us to review , call us . Let us know .
LanoI know man let's get some suggestions from the people out there .
RickLet us know , Because I did start watching , because I wasn't sure we're going to play . Guys did start watching Ready Player One today About 30 minutes before the show started .
MigAnd I was already getting into it .
LanoYou haven't watched the yet ? No , I haven't watched it , my wife was getting into it . She was like .
RickIt's on the . Where'd you watch it on ? It's on Prime . But like it's on Prime but then it takes you to like Free V or something like that , where it has commercials .
LanoAn old movie I don't know if you've seen it with Leonardo DiCaprio . Did I , did . I saw Mm-hmm Body of Lies . Have you seen that ?
RickNo , it's so familiar . Body of Lies no .
LanoBody of Lies is so good man . It's DiCaprio over there and in the With all the terrorists . Okay 2008, . It says here yeah , that's a good damn movie man , really good , I don't remember . We were just looking through movies and then seeing you know what to Watch .
MigOh , really , really , Scott directed it .
LanoYeah , I put it on , man . That movie is damn good . Body of Lies . Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crow .
RickOh , russell Crow . Yeah , yeah , I mean Damn good movie . Where'd you see it on , so everybody could watch it ? Um , max .
LanoNo Max , no Netflix , netflix .
RickUm anybody follow the Golden Globes .
LanoNo , I don't watch any of the crap .
RickI mean the top movies . Have you seen ?
Lanoany of the top movies .
RickI haven't seen them . I mean , I don't even know . All the top movies are like , not commercial movies .
LanoThey look like indie flicks , huh .
MigKind of , yeah , it's like with streaming now you don't even know when they're out or when they're streaming or what dude you know . It's like this . It's like I keep on . I keep on seeing them like for what ? What movie , I forget , man , but even the whole time when they were bombarding you with a stupid Barbie movie . For Oppenheimer it's like I never knew when the hell they came out in theaters or when it started streaming or started at the same time .
RickNo , I think that was . That was a Max . I just saw it recently , like maybe a couple weeks ago . Well , that's right .
MigBut it's like it's so hard to tell when when they're out and when they're streaming or Oppenheimer , I think one .
RickMy dad told me it's out somewhere , but when I looked for it like I had to pay for it , so I haven't seen the Oppenheimer , but I heard it's like three hours Dude , like in white .
LanoDo you guys like movies where , like , it's like an apocalypse happens and then not kind of like a walking dead scenario where people are , something happens with the world ?
RickI can talk about the people , the family or something . Watch , Is that the one Um ?
Migis on Netflix . Can I just like a survivalist movie ? Yeah ?
LanoYeah , where you . Then they come across other people that you know , um , that are also trying to look for food and water , and you know it's . Uh , I think we saw one on Netflix . I forgot the name of it .
RickUm , does it have the girl for pretty woman ? What's her name ? Judy Roberts , yeah .
LanoNo .
RickOh , I seen that one . No Cause they said that one . They said it was really good , but I haven't seen it . It's like apocalypse .
LanoOh , yeah , yeah , yeah , I saw that one .
RickThat one is good Leave the world behind .
LanoYeah , I don't want to blow it .
RickWell , you said , we should see it though . Yeah , it's really good Um came out December 8th , december 8th , but it's an apocalypse movie , right , like they said , that like the computer goes out of the Internet and something , okay , but this is not the one you're talking about .
LanoI have a . Yeah , we saw that one , though we saw me , and Vanessa saw that one too , so we should see me me . I have a huge grip with that movie , but I don't want to tell you .
RickBut you want us to watch it . See it , for we could talk about Right , my parents are like . You got to see . You gotta see it . I .
LanoMean watch it . I'm not gonna recommend it , but watch it , watch it Okay .
RickAll right . Well , maybe I don't want to tell you why .
LanoI have a grip with it because it might .
RickYeah , that's why I felt no be no , just totally sucks . I know , but I wanted you to like watch it . Yeah , totally sucks , but leave the .
Lanothere's a huge gripe I have with that movie .
RickOkay , right .
LanoI mean .
RickI'll watch it . Leave the world behind . Yeah , if our audience wants to listen .
MigOh , you guys want to know . Surprise that I watched . That wasn't as horrible as I thought I was gonna be . The last day Indiana Jones movie . Oh , it's good that dollar destiny . It was okay , I thought it wasn't that bad people .
RickYeah , I thought it wasn't that bad .
MigI like when they like that because that crystal skull one , that one sucked , that was horrible . I mean , the alien , the story was just stupid . But this one , I think they kind of learned and they kind of went back to using a little bit of the formula from the first or the original trilogy Mm-hmm , that's what it felt like . It kind of felt like like that should have been the fourth one and the last , yeah , and I think it goes pretty good .
RickYeah , that's one song or the last .
LanoYeah , you know so the reason I came across body of lies , it's because I was telling Vanessa man , I want a damn good thriller . Hmm , like they don't make damn movies like seven anymore . Copycat like a Good thriller . Silence of the land where . I was watching the last night . Yeah , like all those good like suspense , suspenseful movies that you know crime or whatever , you're trying to catch a kill like there's nothing good out there . It's all like an apocalypse happening or or a Damn what else . What type of movies happening right now ?
LanoSuperhero movies super hero movies , apocalyptic movies or like that's what's going on right now , yeah , but like a good thriller , like when it has you like , oh man , like you try to see that and that's Under thriller , that body of lies came on . So that's cool because it's kind of like a body of lies is like the capital , you know , fighting his way , getting information from , like the terrorists you know working , from work the US is working with you know their , their alliances Over there and trying to take down this one terrorist guy . That's kind of like them been lotting right you know .
LanoSo it's kind of like a quick moving , kind of like man on fire where he's trying to work his way to the guy or or or not or to the . You know , man on fire is trying to get the girl back , but then capital is trying to get to this guy and so that whole thing kind of like .
MigWell , I'm saying you probably got that whole vibe because I was the same director from man on fire to I say I don't know I got .
LanoI gotta learn the damn .
RickDirectors I never paid attention .
LanoI never made the connection with directors .
RickYeah , like some people follow directors , I haven't done that .
LanoYeah , like you said , right now the filing was all the same right . Yeah .
MigI'm like familiar to oh . Exactly like man on fire , but there's a lot of juice in there .
LanoRight , it was it was nice because the way they track people , yeah , they show a satellite and then they're able to zoom in to the , the area where they're at over there in the Middle East , and then it's just like , zooms out and then right , like though , with the style of it , yeah , so it's kind of like same thing and , yeah , I mean so that's how I came across body of life , but that's not weird . Like man , they don't make them good suspenseful movies anymore . Well , now like oh , it's the bad horror movies .
RickThat's what I was gonna say , yeah like I'm following because of the whole yellow something we just like , me and my wife , are trying to watch everything that that guy is like , produced or made Taylor Sheridan , taylor Sheridan . So we just saw where we saw a couple of his movies on Wind River and Hell for High Water . We just saw those . But like they're all like it's all like Indian cowboy stuff like that era , because she really like Tulsa King , we really like 18 .
LanoI guess movies go through there in 1923 and then go through their thing . Cuz like the 80s . It was all like the , the , the comedy , like the Caddy Shacks and yeah . Well , there's one success , and every time the copycat it .
RickLike you know , they try to like . Like it becomes like a , like a era or John R Iry .
LanoEvery time I like do the weekend at Bernie's , that stuff . And then you had the action , the old school action .
RickYeah , all the block 48 hours , you guys remember , on a man .
MigI've been trying to find it for my soul man yeah but no one with . His long name was a seat Thomas how ?
Rickyeah , yeah , see , thomas , how oh , I gotta see the paint his face black . Yeah , that's probably why you can't fight . I show my wife the trailers and we want to see . Can't find it , can't buy it anyway , you gotta find it on a DVD somewhere . Like you gotta find it so more . So we gotta find collection .
LanoThat's why we gotta find Tropic Thunder do before they break all those damn .
Suspenseful Movies and Coaching in Football
MigOh , they saw show it .
LanoYeah , it's a shot , yeah , oh .
RickNo , well , you're gonna mention when I said Julie Robb like a Netflix movie . You just saw those good or something , but I that one .
LanoIt was that one you pulled up .
RickOh , the same one . Yeah , that's .
Lanothat's the one , oh yeah , cuz I I remember , like Julie Robert yeah , I just saw a movie with her that was the same one on that thing , and yeah so that's you have a gripe .
RickAll right , I'll try to watch it .
LanoYeah . Cuz mark , mark and the wife , his wife , he . I'm recommended that movie to me with a Netflix one . Yes , where it's on the Julie Roberts .
RickYeah , yeah okay , people are talking about it .
LanoSee , like Like the good , like suspenseful one , like kind of like the apocalypse thing happening Was kind of the where is that birds ? The one ?
Ricksend your bullet oh yeah , Bird box or so that was those good that was yeah , that was a bad .
LanoThat was suspenseful dude .
RickThat was . That was really good . That's a movie or a series .
LanoThat's a movie . That's a movie , it's a movie now that one .
RickShe can't see .
MigThey can't , they can't know , I think you gotta , you can't you had to blindfold . No , you gotta blindfold yourself .
LanoYou can't make noise . No , cuz I think you can make noise . There's another one with .
Rickthe girl can't make noises , you have to whisper . Yeah , that one's a quiet place quiet place , but oh , yeah , yeah , yeah , you seen the sequels on that tour they carried away . Oh , so they're all good . Yeah so those ? I haven't seen that bird bird .
LanoBird boxes a good suspenseful .
MigYeah , movie and quiet . I want to quiet place .
LanoWhy ? Because I've been trying to find that good suspense for them .
MigIf you ever see quiet place , check a quiet place . Which one first quiet ?
LanoI think I've seen that quiet place , isn't it in the beginning where that little girl gets killed Because she made noise or something ? Or is that bird box ?
RickNow these have . They have like twist at the end or no , like why they can't talk or see Um , is that it's apocalypse or no ?
Migsort of kind , of sort of .
RickKind of you guys ready for the apocalypse yeah .
LanoI told you rough told me rough , told me something .
RickWell , he told me , like a few months ago , that something's gonna happen in the next six months .
LanoIn the next six months .
RickYeah , he's been seen all on the message boards of the UFO stuff . I don't know .
LanoSomething happened already Michigan one , the national type . That's night . That's what I was , a big thing .
MigWe use like something's gonna have our balls becoming the Raiders head coach . Was that real ? No , no , he's done everything .
LanoYeah , I know , I don't know , I'm good it might be . Oh no , I think Rudin's been a coach over there in the Saints .
RickOffensive coordinator or the head coach .
LanoSome kind of coach , some kind of family or something .
MigWe're like some kind of advisor or something .
LanoNo , he was a consultant last year , but now he's gonna be like hired because he was doing it for free . Oh , because he's in the legal battle with the NFL .
RickHe was like consulting .
LanoBut now he was gonna be like some type of coach , I don't know , like a quarterback's coach . I don't think I'm like an offensive coordinator .
RickHmm , I heard he wouldn't , he wouldn't take nothing below like head coaching and thought I was thinking about that .
LanoLike these guys like why not ? I mean , the goal is to win a damn Super Bowl , right ?
RickLike , why not ?
LanoYeah , I mean they have such like a damn ego when I'm gonna win , I'm gonna win . I'm like dude , that's what it is . And , like you want to talk to me about all the love for football and this and that , whatever and whatever , but you have this ego that you have to be the one in charge of the damn things . Like dude just put that shit aside and start racking up championships , man , and that's that's when you you know , that's when you find out millions of dollars , All about them individually .
MigThey don't care about the team , they just care about their individual success .
RickHe started off like like interning or whatever , then quarterback's coach and then offense and then head coach . So like , yeah , like you say , take your . If you want to win , just win .
MigYou see , while with with Gruden . The thing is , I don't think anybody gives them any credit for that type of bait team .
LanoOh , that's Dunge's players . Those are Dunge's players .
MigAnd that championship , the Dunge's players again .
LanoThey knew exactly what you were doing .
MigSo that's why I that's why I think he wants to come back and build something up himself , which he was doing .
Rickbut I don't know who had it out for him .
MigAnd he did it twice .
RickYou did it , with the first time with the region , the second time with the region . He was building something .
Migthen , all of a sudden , you know , I don't know who had it out from the leaked .
RickThe emails or whatever . Yeah and that's the . He wasn't even like . He was what he called collateral damage , but we came down like it wasn't even about him , like the one thing invested in him . The owner of the Washington Redskins . There are some of them , and his emails were like in the pile or whatever . He blew it out of the water .
MigUm he's bullshit , he's bullshit , yeah , I don't know .
LanoUm , I wanted
Inspirational Story and Chiropractor Experience
Lanoto . Before the year ended , I was going to talk about this story . I heard about this story , this old man , amazing story . I thought it was amazing . This I think I had told , I mentioned it to you to . I was talking to somebody in the family over the holidays , but this old man from , I think , rancho Cucamonga , that's still a substitute teacher , a history teacher . 95 years old , dude , 95 years old , they're still letting him teach .
RickHe still teach you , but how long has he ?
Lanospent .
LanoIt was a story I saw across YouTube but I think it was like on channel seven or whatever , like a quick clip . But this old man was walking around like I mean , of course he looked , oh , look at 90s , 90s , but like a 95 year old , like he was walking around like if he was like 80 . Like sharp , yeah , sharp , still , you know . And they were interviewing the kids . The kids loved them , you know , they really would relate to him . And because he was , he was , um , he lived through the , the depression and then he also went to World War II and then so he's been a history teacher , but now he's a substitute teacher and he was talking like still sharp , walking , like pretty damn good for 95 years old man . And I was just in amazement because to see him at that age , how he's moving around , and you know , it's just , it's just crazy , it's like man , I go , I hope .
LanoI mean , I hope , I think what the key is because the way I feel when I get up in the morning , I mean I move worse than he does . Cryotherapy and this past weekend I did some yard work and I was all stiff and mess up the whole .
RickYou did that Saturday and Sunday .
MigBut as far as I use saying that I keep sharp and everything mentally , I mean the thing is , you got to keep . It's like , yeah , you got to keep your head sharp , you got to keep reading stuff , you got to like , do like men challenge yourself mentally . You know it's like . That's why you see , like an old person thing to do is like do crossword puzzles . You know , because it gets you thinking . You know , and you never let your brain stop working .
LanoYeah , it never gets stagnated and just fade away .
MigYou know , or you know , get up and you know , like us , it's like I picture us . You know , get up and go play golf . You know it's like , but you know it's like no , that's more , that's but I mean , I'm saying , you know , it's like you have something to do .
LanoI'm going to start . I'm going to start getting up in the morning , I'm going to start doing calculus every morning .
MigNo , but I mean because you know , like how my dad complains a lot about being locked up in the room and everything . It's like why are you complaining , dude ? It's like you can still drive , you still have a license , you have a car . It's like get out there and go do something . It's like , if you don't want to be locked up in your room , you know , go to a park , go sit down on a bench , go people watch . You know , go to those senior centers where there's other . It's hard .
LanoIt's hard to dive when you've never done that though .
RickWell , that's what we keep saying like that ranch life like you still got to wake up and feed the horses .
LanoSee like that , like old ranchers , they're constantly moving you know , like doing stuff .
RickThat's why they Like I watch all the like Gold Rush shows still and like some of those guys are in their 70s , 80s , like you know , climbing up side of the mountains and , like you know , digging stuff , and this is like because they're still out there doing it every day , like they're not just sitting home like watching TV or , like you know , deteriorating .
LanoYeah .
MigThat's what it is , man . You just got to have something to do , dude .
LanoTom Petty said it man , you never slow down , you never grow old .
RickBut to have a long life , I think you got to take care of your body , and part of taking care of your body is getting the right adjustments and care of everything .
LanoOh yeah , what happened with this guy ?
MigI was going to bring it up Since this guy . This guy didn't bring it up .
RickI was going to tell you I was going to tell you .
MigWell , you talk about being all stiff and everything .
LanoOkay , yeah so . So Meg went to the chiropractor on Monday .
MigSo I finally pulled the trigger and I went to this chiropractor that I've been following on Instagram and YouTube .
LanoAnd you went to him because he has a big enough crane to . Yeah hoist your fat body up .
MigWhat's his name ? Honestly , because I've seen him work with like big dudes on his videos . How does he ?
Lanoeven approach you like .
MigI'll tell you he did struggle .
RickOkay , what's his name ? What's his name ? Or you don't want to tell him , ryan ?
MigLook up Back to Action chiropractor .
RickOkay .
MigDo you have a Ryan , heinstad or Heistad ?
RickOkay yeah , heinstad , ryan Heinstad .
MigHeinstad , there we go .
RickOh , this guy .
LanoYeah , ryan Heinstad yeah .
MigHeinstad . Okay , there we go , heinstad . I heard he was expensive , kind of .
RickHe's on YouTube . He's on Instagram .
MigYeah , and I finally pulled the trigger because , since I do follow him on Instagram , they posted a special saying that if you mention the posting , they'll take $100 off the initial price for new clients .
LanoGood .
MigLord . And so what they do is they ? You know , you call the book , the appointment , but they're going to charge you upfront and normally they charge $325 . But since I was able to get that $100 off , they were doing it for $225 .
First Chiropractic Appointment Experience
MigSo they did their evaluation , they ran their test , he did the x-rays and everything and he gave me the first adjustment in the bodywork and he was checking me out and he was saying , yeah , you know , it was like , because it looks like , you know , everything's so tense on my muscles and everything .
RickThis is looking at you , or this is after the x-rays ?
MigAfter the x-rays and like after like , just like an interview , and like telling them all my problems and everything . You haven't even stood up in front of him yet .
RickYeah , I stood up in front of him .
MigYou know , and he could tell that I was like leaning to one side and you know I was all crooked and everything and actually my hips were kind of like crooked , did he put his ?
Lanohands on your hips so he could see off you . No but he was able to see from the x-rays .
RickSo go , I mean you walk in , tell me like step by step , I need to hear it , you know , I don't know .
LanoOkay , so he drives into the parking lot and it's a street ball . You know there's a couple of parking spots .
MigI had a circle a couple of times before I found a parking spot that I wanted to park at . So then I finally parked and started the car for a while .
LanoYou know , but you told me before , before you got your parking spot , you kind of butted heads with another car and you guys were deciding who's going to go first , and they made you tense and then make . You went a little bit , and then you know .
MigThen I was debating whether or not I should finish my coffee , because then I would have to go to the bathroom .
LanoBut then I figured we might have a bathroom there , but then he didn't want to be talking with coffee breath and so did he ask you if you want to be on Instagram or YouTube or no ? No , okay , I think you should because that's what I say .
RickDo they give you a discount , or if you do it Well , actually , when you're filling out the paperwork , they says looking at those pictures how he's cracking next man , that makes me want to go .
LanoThose people look like they're getting killed All right Look at that . Look at that lady up there .
MigHe's good , he's good .
LanoLook at the lady on the top left corner .
RickShe's dead dude . So you do the X phrase . He looks at you . He's like your tight , your crooked , yeah .
MigSo he says , to start off , he has to use that percussion gun , you know , loosen up the muscles and everything Like a shotgun . No , no , it's just like your massage gun . I had one . I had one .
LanoThe one that pulses .
RickI got one with the heated tip now .
MigYou know , but his was big dude . It was a huge , freaking thing . Well for you .
LanoYeah .
MigSo , so that he's all like . He's like well , I'm going to lie , this is going to hurt , but we got to do it . He had to get the jumbo pack . You know so , so I laid down on my stomach and he started pounding me with this thing . Dude , Shit hurts so bad .
RickOh , yeah , my shoulder .
MigEverywhere .
LanoWere they patches ? Huh , were they patches . He stick on you . No , the percussion gun , it's a pistol .
MigThat vibrating gun . Oh I have one you have one , you sit on your neck and everything .
LanoOh , okay , okay .
MigYeah , and so he . You know he has this one , it's like , but it was a big gun . And like every time we hit my problem areas on my shoulder , my neck and everything , it's like dude . They felt so good but it hurt . You know , I was like right there doing that for a while and then he just started doing that just because I told him that my main problem was Look at that middle picture he's got that girl's head in his crotch Like look at that .
RickOn the top left oh shit In the middle .
MigOh yeah , but right there , that adjustment that he does , right there , dude , on your neck man , it feels so good after dude .
LanoI don't know if I want his balls on the top of my head . I don't know about that , damn close your eyes .
MigYou don't even know he's there . Yeah , I'm going to feel that he's there . What do ?
Lanoyou mean , I'm not going to know , he's there , you get the close . Well , he's pretty close on that one . He's teabagging her . All right oh that strap right there , the license sheet right . Did he do that to you ?
MigYeah , he did . You hit the toe .
RickDid you feel that crack ?
MigI felt it , but I didn't feel it all the way throughout you tensed up . I think I messed up . But I tensed up because I only felt it like halfway .
LanoLike connect to your shoulder .
MigBut he was , you know . It's like , I know like with everything like chiropractic or acupuncture , it's going to take time . It's not just going to be like one miracle adjustment and that's it , you're done .
RickYeah , it's adjustments Like you feel little by little .
MigSo I'm going back next week , oh wow .
RickYeah , now the price difference , now like that I think it's going to be like 80 bucks every visit after that's good , oh , okay .
LanoThat , oh yeah , because I mean you did all the X-rays and all that . So that's the initial .
MigSo that every , everyone , after that , when it's like 80
Chiropractic Session and Effects
Mig. When he puts that strap on as soon as he starts .
LanoI mean that sounds kind of disgusting when he puts the white strap right . Whatever . Yeah , you just got to like as soon as he starts putting it on like just like , try to just but you try to just start going to sleep and then let him do the stuff , Cause if you're like you're waiting for it , then you're going to tense up Cause that's what I noticed when I went with the other carp actor .
LanoI had to start just he's putting it , cause it's pretty kind of nice when he puts it on and kind of stretches your neck out a little bit loosens you up and then just gives you a good little yank .
MigNo , but the adjustments . The little surprising . He starts in the top part Cause then , like all my problem on my lower back is on my right side and the right sciatic . So I thought when he was , when he's doing like that , that thing where he jumps on your , where he has his light on your side , oh yeah , and he hops on your knee and everything .
MigWell , I thought on my right side was the one where I was going to release the pressure , where it felt , but it was the opposite . It's like when he did the left leg and he hopped on that . That's where I felt like , oh man , it's like that's where I felt , and it felt so good after .
RickBut see , that kind of makes sense . It's like you've been , like yourself kind of I've been favoring the wrong side , my left side , that's why you need a professional .
LanoI know I'm reaching , but at any point did you ? Did you fear of letting the fart ?
Miggo Nah , Cause I only had coffee in my system so I don't do it . Well , it was funny is when he does the one where he's trying to like crack your I guess your ribs , cause he does your ribs like on your back like he'll kind of like hug you and put , like make a fist underneath your back , like in between your shoulders . And that's like kind of like where he hops on you right .
MigYeah , that's where he was having a hard time getting his arms around me . It's like lifting me up and doing it . He's like man . It's like I'm going to need a beer after this .
LanoHe's a nice guy and everything . No , he's cool dude . He's super cool . You're a massive human being .
MigOh shit , doc , I'll buy it for you . Man , I'm feeling good after you got to go back Um where he says he wants to do once a week until until I'm feeling like better , and then from there we can stretch them out .
RickWell , there's something he was trying to get to and he couldn't do it , or like this is a little bit like we'll try it again .
MigWell , yeah , cause you got to go little by little , you know crane operators are expensive .
RickNow he did the whole well , like the hips .
MigWhen he , like he grabbed your leg and just shaking and yanks on it . I hate that . Oh , that shit felt so good . No man , when they do that , when they .
LanoWhen they do that , like they pick up your leg and then he yanks right , it feels like your , your your leg comes out of your hip sock .
RickMaybe they didn't do it right I mean .
LanoI always tense up on that . Like , I like it when I feel that , and then I already know how it feels and I and I and I mess up because I tense up when I think and I think . I make it worse by tensing up . But man that popped .
MigWell , it's funny is I told him too that , um my wrists , I always have my wrist hurting , and so when he went to go crack my wrist and everything like go crack my knuckles , my hands . It's like he feels my hands . He's like , oh man . It's like , yeah , those are mechanic hands . Like yeah , dude .
RickSo , like he knew you're a mechanic , he knew you're a mechanic . He knew you're a mechanic .
MigYeah , he knew what you do . Well , yeah , cause he asked . You know , it's like what you do repetitively .
RickYeah .
MigYou know , do the mechanic work , do it repetitively . But then I tell him also that you know we have the small business . So in the mornings I'm on the computer at least a couple hours every morning , you know . And then I drive a lot , you know . So you just got to tell them everything , yeah .
RickLike how your day is , did anything pop that ? Like you weren't expecting , like a elbow . Or like you know something they do the ears or your side . Or like you're like I didn't know this thing , no , but the elbow .
MigI hate the elbow pop dude that's the one for me .
LanoI don't think I've had a bad . Yeah , he gets your .
Migyeah , he gets your army Like kind of like kind of transfer , like hyper extended and like pops .
RickThat's the one I hate . That's the one that's funny yeah . That's the one that gets to me , but so the knees , the legs , so he just works his way down . What are the x-rays ? Look like that .
MigHe sees something like oh , this is pretty good , yeah , my hip , my , my right hip , was dipping down , and then he just , um , he has , he lines up your x-ray to like a curvature line of how your spine should be . Oh , and it starts showing you the points on your spine that should be following the curvature line and how far off it is .
LanoHis x-ray . His x-ray shows that his skeleton is also fat .
RickDo you have that x-ray ?
LanoNo , you don't keep it , you have sanity on a I just thought of a .
RickI just thought of a short idea , like Miggie's crooked spine .
MigThe crooked spine you wear it and you have his no , but what's ? A trip is that he says that like a lot of people know , you know , it's like you see this a lot . It's like especially with the cell phones now , it's like how everybody's always looking down .
MigHe says that as much as you can try to bring it up to your eye level , because he was seeing in my neck , like the spine area in my neck since you know your head's going forward so much there was . It was like bone spurs starting to and I'm like , damn dude , it was like and I'm conscious of that , you know it's like . I try , I try not to like be looking down on my phone so much I've heard about it .
Rickso then I'm like I'm like I'm conscious of it too .
MigAnd it's like I'm always like trying to sit up to and everything you know and the one thing he did . He did tell me , though , to help fix the neck . I already had this little apparatus from a previous chiropractor that I went to . It's like a little like a little block with a certain curvature cut out on it . It says for like 20 minutes a day . Try to like lay down on it that way you get your curve back in your .
RickWell , we have one of those we have one like with little like nubs and then one without nubs .
LanoIt was good , like when you really you bought out the lead on a rail . Yeah .
MigBut the thing is with this thing , it's like I was kind of using it wrong , I wasn't putting it in the right position and you really got to put it like right under your back and like really let your like head hang over it and you know , try to do at least like 10 , 20 minutes a day .
RickNo , you're all done . Walking out , you felt like more like flexible , like like maybe a mental power more looser or less stiff maybe less stiff .
MigI'm feeling really sore today , though .
RickI'll tell you that really sore yeah .
MigOh , it was yesterday yeah it was yesterday , but that's what's going to happen , because when you get adjusted you know you're moving stuff and he's stretching out . Yeah , so success .
RickThis is going to be for 2024 .
MigI mean because actually today at work I was , I was able to be a lot more comfortable at work , moving around in everything . I wasn't what about ?
Lanowhat ? About your ankle ?
RickHe did the ankle to less pain , like , more flexibility , Like because I'm here . You said you're having some pain .
MigNo , because actually I was taking some stuff that I brought from Mexicali and it was kind of like working for a while and I stopped taking it . But once it's through the adjustment it really started hurting . So I took a pill yesterday .
RickIt doesn't hurt right now . So testing , but it was about an hour or 20 minutes . How far was that drive ?
MigNo , it was about how far in in 45 minutes .
LanoYou got to you got to make your appointment because I'm sure he's busy with a bunch of appointments .
MigYeah , I don't think he opens Tuesdays . I think he's only open Mondays , wednesdays and Fridays and I think one Saturday a week , say you call like . Well , when I made this appointment , I called the week before I believe it was Thursday , yeah , thursday , or Friday , almost Thursday and the girl had told me that the first available she had was on Monday at 11 .
RickSo that's cool , that'll work .
LanoKind of you want to do it .
RickYeah , I'm excited , I want to try it . I mean , this is gonna be for 2024 . We're going to follow Mickey's chiropractic journey to good health . See if he starts walking .
LanoSee if he feels good to start walking .
RickI mean I didn't notice you were like little like swifter in your feet coming in , but I mean you have pain like getting out of bed , I mean right now , your sore , like we'll have to see if it starts like going away . It's just like I'm happy to hear what he said because , like a lot of chiropractors , like I don't want to say they're not the real deal , but it's not what you expect .
MigThey have a routine of what they do , and they just want you in and out the door .
RickWe're like to see them actually , like you know , work on the toe popping you .
MigThat's what I want . Yeah , after so much when your toes popped . Like after so much searching on on YouTube and Instagram . It was down to like three people that I was like seriously considering seeing . He was one of them . There was another guy in Houston . Well , that does a similar thing . It does . The wingdinger was .
RickYeah , the ringdinger , ringdinger .
MigBut he has like a table where he actually like buckles you in . It's like he raises your feet .
RickAnd like he puts these , like he puts these pins into , like locking your hips .
MigOh , I've seen that he put like a towel around your head and yeah , yeah , I saw him all seriously considering . And there's another guy that's on the East Coast . He travels up and down .
RickI think I'm from Charlotte , or between .
LanoNorth Carolina . He's a big bear to do that yeah .
MigAnd so those three do ?
RickThere's something there's something .
MigYeah , yeah , I seen him funny , funny enough , I didn't , I didn't know this , but his sister , I follow her slot channel Slot machines . Yeah yeah , I didn't know until one time I seen them . I see them on there . I'm like , oh shit , the other brother and sister and I started looking like how they do , kind of look alike .
RickWell , my wife Laura has a . That's in the town where he works . So we're like , oh , maybe we do the thing , maybe we see it , or whatever , but it's him the ringdinger . And then there's some other guy that I don't use is like some big like hammers and stuff . I don't know about that guy . Yeah , like some like no , because there was .
MigThere was , there's some other . I think there's like an Asian guy or Filipino or something . I don't know where he was located at , though .
RickDon't get the Chinese . There's a Chinese guy that would like massage your butt . Don't get that guy .
MigAnd then there's some . There's some broad .
RickYou know what I'm talking about , right ? They're like you feel good .
MigI don't know what you're talking about . Let's see them .
Considering Chiropractic Treatment Options
RickBut there's a guy , dr Homestead , that I was thinking about , but he's in large month , but large months is like a fancy area for me where I figure it would be too expensive Dr Homestead or Homestead like an Indian guy , like in large month .
MigAnd then there's , like this other chick to but bad dragon , or something like that .
RickMondragon or something like that . That's why I pronounce I don't know yeah .
MigSo I mean , there was a lot of people that I was out there watching and following and everything , and I'm tired now , right now at three and or it actually too . But then when I , when I found Homestead and it goes right here in Tustin , I'm like , oh perfect , you know , because there were there's like even some dudes and they were like over here on the West side which I hate going to , you know that I was thinking about going , but once I seen him I'm like , no , I'm going to go see him .
RickI mean just the fact that you like what you've seen is what he did . I mean that's worth it .
MigNo . But then seeing him and seeing the different type of people that went in there with the different types of problems you know , and just thought different , you know , body sizes and everything I'm like , no , no , this guy . I think this guy's going to be able to help .
RickI'm very curious . And it's like you say you spend the money up front but like maybe I get my tax returns or something . No , I'll start scheduling , but I mean , I mean I think we all need adjustments .
LanoI mean this whole routine .
RickYou know these are backs . You know get out of whack and then don't fix it . Yeah , maybe I'll save up to the before you run the marathon , but like you're going to run it soon , no , I gotta do it during the whole process .
LanoTraining .
MigI reckon I enjoyed my experience . I'll be going back .
LanoWe might be following you on that .
MigI'll let him know .
RickI'll warn him . Oh my dad was asking um there's no referral or like discount , so you bring a friend or something .
MigNo .
LanoYou wanted me to call you , just give the give the shout out .
MigYeah , the Instagram discount . I don't know how long , how much longer they're going to have it , but just do that , Keep drifting yo .
LanoPlease like the book right .
